  1. the 100DSV stands for D=d series S=saltwater V=version. its saltwater, thats why thers no holes in the spool, so saltwater doesnt get in the gears and crap.
  2. you didnt take that did you? cuz if you dont know where it came from, i'd be wililng to bet thats photoshopped but still cool!
  3. wow! thats gotta be hella cool to see that thing at the surface and then beach itself to die...considering how deep it lives. he's got to be one of the extreme few to ever see one alive n swimmin!!!!!! specially that shallow.
  4. You mean AFTER you poop? WIPE! LOL! ;D
  5. i have a 200D and its heavy, and big. but its a powerhouse let me tell you. its got those HEG high effeciency gears and they truly do give you more power. i did order a 100DSV but my parents wont let me have it till xmas. i cant wait to use it though.
  6. yea dude your in ponds you need to get set up w/ some 3's 4's and 6's. more of a reaction bait really, so color isnt that important, but since it mimics a baitfish, i like to stick w/ baitfish colors. my top killer colors for any rapala are: -Pearl Grey Shiner -Bleeding Olive Shiner -Silver Shad -Silver
  7. i wuv rapalas. easily my fav. bait that isnt a soft plastic. give me any rapala idc which and i will use it to catch fish. i have a rapala dvd and there is a short segment that shows the making of them and i believe it says they use 7 clearcoats on it for extreme durability. i'll go watch that scene in a bit and get back to you.
  8. .dsaavedra. posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
maybe this has been discussed before but i have rarely seen any topics about this. is Berkley GULP! really what it lives up to be? i mean all the advertising i see for it makes it seem like its the best out there and its scent dispersal makes it catch much fisho. well ive never used it, so this isnt an apporval/dissproval on my part, i just want to know if it is what it lives up to be and if its worth using.
  9. oh and i forgot, since its heavyil pressured, you might want to try some reaction baits. since they probably know everything there is to know...sneak up on em and just blast an x-rap thru their turf. like paul said earlier, they wont have time to think and will just smack it. if you finesse em, they have a chance at looking at the worm, seeing its flaws, and not biting. scare em w/ something and they will reflexivly bite.
  10. i was watching UMF once and this guy, i think anthony gagliardi, did something i have never heard of but it seems like a great idea. he was on a ledge or hump or some kind of structure (since your fishing in a golf course pond it should work anywhere) and he was taking a johnsons silver minnow spoon (basi weedless spoon) and he would cast it out. let it sink. wiggle it a little. then give it big rips on his rod. what this did was it would pull the bait off the botom rapidly and then it would gently flutter down. he did this and was smackin some fish. if you've ever seen the action on a johnsons minnow spoon, you can have a pretty good idea of what this would look like, and it really looks like a baitfish dying on the bottom.
  11. thanks guys this is just what i wanted to hear! i guess i should have mentioned that what i wanted to do was really map out a lake. i figured once i knew what the bottom of a lake is like, i can use what ive learned to figure out where the bass would likely be. one question though, what exactly does it feel like say if your c-rig is climbing up a hump? will i be able to distinctly tell? see, ive never fished a sensative rod before (most sensative i've fished would be a lightnin rod) but i do have an avid now but havent used it. so will i be able to tell if the worm is climbing or faling down a hill or off a ledge or something like that? thanks a lot guys! ;D
  12. hey guys...this might be too broad of a question to get a good answer for, but im gonna give it a shot. how can i locate bass on a small lake (big pond) without any kind of electronics. i do have a boat however. i know some obvious places along the shoreline like laydowns and lily pads and crap, but beyond that, off-shore, how can i locate bass? thanks for any advice
  13. larger bait butnot huge, then i would definitley thro out a river2sea vjoint min wake in the largest size. or get a 6inch king kong...they arent too insanley big.
  14. oh and then thers the strike king king kong for $30...
  15. original and jointed floating rapala minnow could both be considered a wake bait (specially the jointed, it barely dives at all). also, ive had tremendous success w/ the bandit footloose...but its more of a crank than a wake bait...but it does have a vertical lip and it does wake the surface. that river2sea v-joint wake looks amazing...been looking at em for a while now, and i asked for some for xmas. i'll let you know how they are if i get em.
  16. dat chub is pretty. so is the bass! nice catches!
  17. lol thats what im starting to think too.....why buy lightweight stuff if you need to add weight to it to get it to balance....
  18. ok thats good but the shad arent gonna be so heavy that they require any kind of special equipment are they?
  19. oh and how does a balanced rod feel "feather light" wouldnt the added weight just make it be heavier even though it is still balanced?
  20. maybe i missed reading something, but how does a balanced rod make it more sensative?
  21. maybe im missing out but the member "bait_Monkey" whats the deal w/ him...never seen him before and now he has like 19000 some posts. are all those posts him telling ppl to buy stuff? thats gotta get annoying. who is he!?!?
