  6. how are the strike king king kong swimbaits? are they worth the 30 bucks? they look kinda cheesy and ive heard bad things about strike king cranks. thanks for the input.
  7. a thin coat of clear nailpolish will get rid of tooth scratches on your hardbaits.
  8. to prevent trebble hooks on crankbaits from tangling on each other/the line, take a small o-ring and take the hook off, slide the o-ring on the shank, put the hook back on, slide the o-ring up so it covers the split ring...this will prevent the hooks from swinging around so easily and tanglinng.
  9. remove the rear trebble of any crankbait and add on a small spinnerbait blade for some flash.
  10. i think its just a kit in a monkey suit...def. doesnt look like a bear...they dont have tht long and skinny of limbs.
  11. GWOSS!!!!
  12. i heard hay bales work good for somereason. also, plastic lawn chairs, cynder blocks, pallets, and of course, the classic, xmas tree.
  13. lets see, when i was looking for a rod in taht price range, my top choices were team daiwa light and tough team allstar im-10 graphite shimano clarus shimano compre
  14. hooka brotha up homie! 8-)
  15. get a topwater popper and remove the rear trebble. tie about 2 feet of line and a hook at the end. wacky rig a senko and work the popper like normal. either the popping action will trigger a strike, or it will get the bass' attention and then the wacky worm scootin' by behid it will trigger them.
  16. custom baits w/ woodburning tool: get a woodburning tool (8 bucks at walmart...might as well get some wood too and try your hand at artwork...its pretty) and a bunch of torn up plastics. you can mend plastics together by melting the two surfaces and sticking em together, then once it cools, melt the seams closed. an example of what you can do is make a lizard by adding 4 tiny curly tail grubs to a ribbon tail worm like legs. also (ive done this) melt together multiple worm bodies and one tail at the end for a long worm for big bass.
  17. heres one: take a finesse worm (any long skinny straight worm will work) and then take a razor and slice the back half of the worm in half length wise. then rotate the worm 90° and slice it lengthwise again...so you end up with 4 "tentacles". use it on a dropshot or shakey head and the tentacles will go wild and trigger strikes.
  18. shall i disclose the senko trick? ;D
  19. ive seen these at Dicks and i was thinkin of picking one up cuz i wanted a lure that goes in the 2-5 foot range, but i saw these went like 6-10 so i passed. i ended up getting a DT4 anyway, they look like good cranks ive heard alot of good stuff about them. maybe i'll pick one up next time im out.
  20. i have a tip that doesnt quite apply to lures: if you take a brown sharpie marker, and make little 1/2" marks spaced about 1/2" apart on the first few feet of line or so, it makes the line alot less visible, especialy on moving baits. it breaks up the profile of the line and camoflages it.
  21. 2nd row first 3 are 100 seires. foot loose has a near vertical bill. wow 13lbs..thats big!........bama boy 7lbs is seriously a lunker in md. state record is only 11lbs 2oz. yea the floating rapalas are light. theyre kinda hard on casting gear. not all of their baits are light though. the DT's i can sling em a mile on casting gear. that big xrap jointed shad is huge weighs 1 5/8oz.
  22. yea i gotcha. i figure two lead pellets is better than half a dozen copper bb's
  23. what is a spiral wrapped rod? ive heard it a bunch and ive always thought it was jsut the way they wrapped the threads to make it look pretty. i just say theredtorpedos new rod and its spiral wrapped and i noticed the guides werent in a line. is tht what spiral wrapped is? the guides go up the blank in a spiral instead of a line? what are the advantages of this? seems like it would greatly reduce casting abilities and make lots of friction when you reel in...
  24. thats a good tip rite there mike! im gonna go put two lead pellets in mine
