  1. thats exactly what ive been quietly thinking to myself thru this entire paddle tail craze. its not like they are anything new...just a slightly different body shape. look at saltwater fisherman, they've been using swimshads for as long as ive been around. i just dont see what all the hype is about...besides the colors.
  2. i say anything 14 inches and smaller. above that they are fun to catch and can sometimes have a little weight to them if they been eatin good. haha i like that "skidder" concept, i think i might have to use that one ;D
  3. goose, sticks, leaves, knife, huge mesh minnow trap (the size of a 55gal. drum) that sucker took me half an hour to get to shore from about 15 ft away on 50lb test., tarp, grocerey bags, various turtles including a massive snapper that broke my brand new lure, countless tangles of old fishing line, and this is the most common thing ive caught that isnt fish: WATER!!! ;D
  4. hah! that was so good ;D was that a parody of carrie underwoods song "jesus take the wheel"? (ps. thats a nice "10lb shiny bass" that they caught....maybe 10 inches! )
  5. hahaha thats great! thanks for posting ;D ;D ;D
  6. ive noticed that flat silicone stays put under the o-ring better. ive had a few round rubber jigs before and the strands were always slipping out or getting uneven.
  7. the DT Sureset just have better colors IMO. i really like pearl grey shiner color though. its a veryyy nice color. i havent noticed very much difference in hooking abilities w/ the sure set hooks. if there is any difference between regular VMC's and the Suresets, the suresets do hook and hold a little bit better. i say go ahead and get the suresets and see if you like em. normal DT's (including sureset) have a moderate wobble, DT FLATS (including sureset) have a tighter wobble, and DT FATS (including sureset) have a wider wobble.
  8. any rapala lures are good and will work. some specific lures are jointed shad rap original floater any DT's some must haves for me are: lunker city ozmo yum dingers river2sea v-joint min wake rapalas mattlures minnows bandit footloose and as always: GIFT CARDS!!!!
  9. florida, california, georgia, tennessee, texas. pretty much anywhere in the southeast will have big bass (with the exception of california...its on the west coast but has some giant bass).
  10. Eagle Cuda 168 Portable Fish Finder. do you all think this would be a nice choice to put in a jon boat that doesnt have a trailer and gets treated roughly? i figure i'd need a portable since i drag it on the ground, throw it in the pickup, store it upside unprotected in the woods. anyway, how is the product itself? is it nice? worth the 100 bucks? it got all perfect reviews on bass pro. would it be a good investment for the weekend anglers (my dad and myself) to help us get to know the areas we fish? link: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_75236_200001001_200000000_200001000_200-1-1 thanks for all of your input guys. (paul {hawg caller} dont you have a cuda? how do you like it?)
  11. The camo suffix seige looks like it uses 3 or 4 different tones, so it should work very well
  12. you're welcome good luck w/ the camo line. ive never used factory camo'd line, i always camo my line myself.
  13. Gizoogle, for all of you with a ghetto sense of humor ;D
  14. i dont think it does much at all, but like fourbiz said, if anything it will help because of less light. just be sure not to run into anything in your boat ;D
  15. thats some cool stuff right there. crayons are my favorite ;D i love going to youtube and just searching on high speed footage, slow motion, slow motion bullets, stuff like that. there is some pretty cool footage.
  16. man i need to get into swimbait fishin. how do you think swimbaits would fare in maryland?
  17. camo line usualy does break up the outline, no matter what kind of water. i always camoflage my powerpro w/ a brown sharpie, making little dashes along the first few feet. the effect is greater (line is less visible) in stained water w/ baits that are moving...even if its just crawling a worm.
  18. i would get the clarus over the convergence. in the world of bass rods, you really do get what you pay for, so you should always spend as much as youre willing to spend.
  19. nice site. also try http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php just click on the knot you want. then you can play it step by step, or play it all the way through at different speeds. nice site. very easy to understand. no foreign language classes needed ;D
  20. thats kind of ironic because they said that the blade design is supposed to cause lift so it rides high easier. seems to me like thers not enough surface area on the blades to get it to lift.
  21. yeah thats why i asked. cuz i thought they were from bomber, but ive seen them under the name excalibur in dicks....confused me. so they are the same exact bait right?
  22. Mattlures originally gave us the link on this thread and he said it was his fav. creature bait....so im guessing that means he's fished w/ them and had success. im not skeptical. after xmas once i have a little more money (gift cards) i will be purchasing probably 2 bags to try out and see how i like em
  23. lol me n' my dad ususally make up stupid little lines that we cant stop saying all day!!! ;D
  24. mail me one and i'll let you know ;D 8-)
  25. lol not that hard to figure out ;D
