  1. I have been using the Stren Super Braid and I noticed they no longer make it. It has been replaced with Sonic Braid. I really liked the Super Braid because it would lay straight on the water unlike other braids that coil. Has anyone used this new line yet? Is it as limp as the Super Braid and will it lay straight on the water? Thanks in Advance
  2. Dr.T You do not have an issue using the palomar knot on 30lb plus fluoro lines?
  3. Hi, I am interested in finding the best knot to use when tying lures to 30 lb fluorocarbon leader material. I have used the Palomar knot with 10 lb to 15 lb line with great success. I want a knot that will not losen because of the diametre of the line. What is the best knot for thicker diametre lines? Thanks In Advance
  4. Thanks for all the feedback... Problem solved - I put less line on the reel and pay more attention when closing the bail.
  5. Bass-Brat I always close my bail by hand and pull on the line as well. I am going to spool up tonight with 20lb and give it a try - I will only fill the spool up 3/4 of the way and see if that makes a difference. I may have overfilled the spool.....
  6. Wayne P. After several cast I get a loop in the line on the reel - once I cast, the line pulls the loop off the reel and creates knotted mess. Hawgchaser Does the suffix lay flat on the surface like the stren. Power Pro has some coil to it when it is in the water.
  7. I used Stren Super Braid (30lb High Vis Yellow) on my spinning gear this weekend. I liked the way it casted - it laid on the water straight so it was easy to detect any movement. The line is extremely limp compared to most braids i have tried. The only problem I had was the line looped way to easy and created knots. It happened several times throughout the weekend. I switched to Power Pro and it no longer happened but the line did not cast as well or lay straight on the surface like the Stren. I may try using 20lb and see if this makes any difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated.....
  8. Thanks for the feedback... The flouro leader knot is breaking - I always have my drag cranked down. I may have to just go with straight braid. When I am fishing heavy cover or docks I crank my drag down. I have been using high vis yellow marking the last 6' with a black marker. I will never fish without high vis again - it is a line watchers dream.....
  9. I have been tying 20lb InvisX Seaguar line to 50lb braid using both Uni to Uni and Albright. Everytime I set the hook on a M/H or Heavy action baitcasting rod the knot breaks. I use 15lb InvisX on my spinning rods without any issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated..... Thanks
  10. Hi, Is the leader material stronger and more abrasion resistant than main line flouro? I have 20 lb Seaguar invizX - i am thinking of purchasing some leader material.... Thanks in Advance.
  11. Hi, Is this line as visible on the surface as the Hi-Vis yellow? I like the the feel of the Super Braid and want to use a Hi-Vis braid this year. Thanks
  12. Bassackward. I am thinking of using 50 or 65 lb sufix braid with a 20 lb seaguar floro leader material on 7' heavy and med/heavy casting rods. What lb test are you using and what knot do you use to connect the leader? Thanks Again
  13. Hi, I am going to switch all my rods over to the Hi Vis Yellow Braid with a fluorocarbon leader. I am a huge line watcher and I have a hard time seeing the green braid in the water. If anyone has used this setup please let me know your thoughts. My biggest fear is the fish getting line shy...... Thanks In Advance
  14. Hi, Kistler has 2 rods designed specifically for skipping. There is 1 in the Graphite Plus line up and 1 in the Magnesium line up. I have the 1 in the Graphite Plus and it works great..... Hope this helps
