  1. I've never fished up past blue plains but i hear theres deep water up there and lots of wood to fish can you give some insight on fishing up there?
  2. Spread the word Chris, whenever you see someone fishing down there let them know about BR. There has to be some diehard anglers down there, you guys do have an awesome river down there
  3. Im sure we change that in DC waters Aaron
  4. last time I caught or even saw a 5+ was back in September....It's been too long
  5. Sometimes thats better than a high volume store
  6. Hmm I didnt know there was a reel repair place in Springfield I gotta give it a try myself
  7. I do not believe you have Channa Argus in florida....yet, you do have channa marulius which does not resemble a bowfin, they are much longer and skinnier and have a large eye spot on the caudal fin
  8. Congrats on the future purchase Josh! What kind is it? Theres a Manta Ray 12 with the works I've been eying for a few weeks now
  9. Where else can you catch snook, tarpon, peacock bass, barramundi, bullseye snakehead, and large bass in the same place?
  10. Pretty darn good Steve, pretty darn good!
  11. Fish couldn't see the hook, all he's processing is here's this round yellow morsel bouncing along. Did'nt need the scent for that
  12. My concern would be where they go in different seasons. I have noticed it as well that they are in less oxygenated waters the majority of the time. During the colder months they will slow down their metabolism, bury themselves in the mud and go into hibernation, they will also do this during droughts in Asia.
  13. The video you posted is of Channa. Micropeltes they get alot bigger and are more aggressive than the other species of snakeheads. Although there are documented attacks from brooding parents an attack even in its native water are one in a million, making an attack on a human in the us virtually impossible. But most importantly cant not survive in the US with the exception of perhaps florida but no establish populations have ever been documented. The species that have established residence in the US include the northern (channa argus) and bulleseye (channa marulius). Only the northern can survive the mild winters in most states but they pose no potential threat to humans and thus far there has not been any conclusive evidence that supports an enviromental threat either. Like dan has states no documentation has shown bass or other prized gamefish to be in the removed stomach contents of these misundertood beast. They inhabit low oxygenated waters that most fish deem uninhabitable with help from a variation of a labyrinth organ, so are not driving out populations of native fish....
  14. Yeah i read that in your earlier post, hopefully things go back to normal and you start feeliong better man, we need to start slaying the big girls again!
  15. Yeah it was nice meeting you to John, and half an hour in we were wishing we had followed you to Burke! Probably wouldnt have broken the tip off my St. Croix either lol! But it was a good day out indeed We are planning a trip to blue plains or the spoils soon when Aaron gets on his break.
  16. Water in the Occ was muddy and cold, 38 degrees, the bite was not on, Dan managed two crappie and Aaron and myself caught nothing but time, but it was good fun between friends. I'm certain it wasnt the cold water that shut them down it had to be the muddy water as visibility was less than 4 inches.... we need to plan a trip to Anna Steve since we are dying for a warm water fix!
  17. wow way overpriced lures there, I feel like for that price range you can get a better lure at TW
  18. great to know, now do you store this on your floating tacklebox at the same storage facility as Aarons girl?
  19. You sure? Last time I fished the river it was right after it rained and the water was a little muddy but not bad at all. Seeings how it hasnt rained in a couple of days I'm sure it will be fine, thanks for the heads up though and GL on Burke and let us know how that vendetta feels and performs!
  20. This is not florida...
  21. Whats the gameplan me hombres?!?!
  22. True but there's are alot of factors im sure that played into that, Im sure if Josh were to drive the 2.5 hours to Briery it would be a wise idea to have a boat and a way of locating the fish rather than hoping for some decent shorefishing
  23. Thai replied to skunked_again's topic in Everything Else
They really are scraping the bottom of the gene pool out there.....
