  2. I'll bring some spare change!
  3. You could pull out some hawgs with that setup on Beaverdam and most lakes in NOVA due to the HP/Elec. only restraints
  4. > Who do ya'll take me for? LHC? AHAHAH
  5. says the recently engaged man about his boat. ;D He said pride and joy not ball and chain! ;D
  6. Rut roh! I guess ima come back with some bolt cutters!
  7. lol sorry man BMW got tboned while my sister was leaving school, shes fine but the cars been in the shop for a few days now
  8. just a few things. Ordered a whole bunch of jigs and got a couple bags of flipping baits. Thai, remind me to bring money to pay you back for those Cover Craws. I have no idea about locations. Mattawoman? Pohick? Occoquan? Leesylvania? Don't worry about the cover craws......because you might have to pick me up this weekend lol!
  9. Occ River? I saw a few prime spots on the fishfinder and there was one guy dropshotting and pulling in very decent bass consistently. If we do that I'll head over to warbirds and grab some dropshot plastics, do I hear Jackall? lol
  10. OK if they're not here by then I'll steal some of yours while you're not looking... :
  11. Oh and Dan not counting holidays or weekends how long did it take for those jigs to get to you, I wonder if I'll get mine by this weekend
  12. ok great just gotta let me know what kinda beer and sandwiches ya'll like
  13. If you have two open seats for Dan and I if he's available yeah I'll throw down for gas, beer and ill make some sandwiches with extra love, just for you!
  14. Elephants eat peanuts, Snakes eat rabbits, ants eat grasshoppers, kids eat their vegetables, etc etc etc Bottom line is this, big bass love big bait. Always have, always will. And to reiterate, i'd rather fish all day long for a big bass and not catch any (which i hate to admit i did the other day) then to catch a bunch of dinkers. If i wanted those, i'd go to the local pet shop, grab the little green net, and scoop a dozen minnows. You talk about how you throw big baits so, I am curious, what are the big baits you use most often? I consider big baits as 7 inch+ senkos, 14 inch+ ribbontails. I would be interested in your definition of big bait. Yeh, i think your along the right lines heavy. I never go under 7 inches. Matter of fact the closest i came was a few weeks ago in our NOVA tournament and i went down to a 7 incher but in general, it's just not worth it to me. I must say, when you get a bite with a lure that is huge, your heart drops and just the sheer anticipation of it gives me the rush. Even when bass are finicky, i just can't put on a bait smaller than 7 inches. It might be a psychological disorder. You sound like a girl I know.... :
  15. LOL Im pretty sure leeches are great at catching fish though!
  16. with such powerful words you may have just got a permanent seat in my boat!!! Ok. I see how this is going. It going to be a bidding war! Haha.... I'll meet your raise of beer and sandwiches, and in addition raise back - refunds for any lost lures! ;D If you're fishing brush piles, deff bring this guy! ;D
  17. Have you been fishing from a boat in the river? if so, what pattern is currently working? Thanks. Good ole JnP, pitching under docks that have a steep drop off of 14-25' have been the best producers. Also saw a few dropshotting out there for some nice ones
  18. Im pond hopping today, if you down for going out this weekend I'm down, Occoquan river has been treating us nicely these past weeks
  19. OH NO YOU DIDN'T! AHAHA i've tried in the past, it's hard to just up and sneake out when you live 45mintues away and have a family... Our trips are for the most part random and spontaneous so it's just easier for us "true NOVA" folks to meet up, nothing against you red headed step children
  20. Well i was throwing one of these and only had one blow up, musta been a freshwater marlin
  21. Dont worry about it man, I was looking for a partner today too but the cold kept most at bay so I ended up going out for a few alone to a local pond, threw only jigs and only manage two dinks
  22. What Dan said, been catching them on jigs too but deff nothing like that! Good work man, you deff know what you're doing out there!
  23. Crappie are vertical oriented fish, and stack up under pilings and docks, but that doesnt mean you cant catch them on or around other structure like laydowns and dropoffs, it depends on what is available to them in the pond. Try fishing a small grub or tube on a 1/16 or 1/8 oz jighead and work it in different depths to locate the fish. You should be able to snag some fat females as they are preparing for the spawn in the next few months. If the pond is creek fed you should be able to find them stacked in the channel soon too Hope that helps bud and good luck
