Dang, Matt-I see whatcha sayen > makes me ill looken at it and to have a history with it. I one had a similiar issue only it was land only-my grandDad had 210acres in KY with his house he grew up in and it got past on to his nephew-he told my mom that he did that cause no one else acted intrested in it. Man what did I do wrong, I'd like to have seen it with one of us grandkids. whent down there to visit two years ago and made me ill-shouldn't have done it :'(

Hey guys Its me again, I'm looking for feedback on set up for my newest rods and reels. Looking on what should be thrown on them and what kinda line weight set up for them to be most successful. Now Keep in mind that I'm only on page 12 on the how to be a good bass fisherman handbook ;D 1. I have a Round BaitCaster Abu Ambassador 6000 5.3:1 on a Berkley lightning MH action trigger 1/4-1 1/4 lure wt rod- I'm thinking jigging for this one, or what else can I throw with it, wactha think? 2. This one kinda confuses me, Combo BaitCaster Pflueger Endeavor 4 bearing 6.3:1 on a Pflueger Endeavor IM-7 M action 6'6" rod. I was thinking a crank bait but not sure about it now cause of the gear ratio, Maybe the spinners or buzzbaits but hen not sure if the rods correct for that either so what would you use it for throwing? 3. Pflueger President 10 bearing 5.2:1 on a Shimano 6'6" MediumHaevy Fast action 1/4-3/4 lure wt Tip+5, I'm looking forward to throwing soft baits with this one(picked up some *) so I hope I'm on key with that, unless you have something else to use it for. 4. Really looking forward to feedback on these for success this year. Worst part is on the line for them, I'm really not sure what to set them up with and combo baits to use the rods on. 5. I'm also looking into a Pitch and Flip combo 7' and what else I could use it for, maybe some Karu Jigs :-?

Well I had to share this one, Me and my 10yr old son have been working back on the jon boat project(post pics later on the boat forum) and my 8 yr old daughter runs in the garage grinin ear to ear with a pretty spinning rod in her hand, she'd been acting real interested in it lately by asking all kind of questions. The other night she sat down with me and opened up the Baspro fishen cataloge and whent thru all of the hard baits and plastics 8-) We was at walmart and she asked to see the poles so, I took her by(like I wasn't in the lead) and she wanted to see a open face real-I showed her the mantis(shakespear) and said this was called a spinning real so,that was it. She had mommy buy it for her the next day(smooth girl) and came home to show me :'( she was listening :'( I'll have to explain the BaitMonkey to her later ;D well here she is Notice the stainless fish fryer on top of the cabinet behind me;D And the thompson water sealer for the wood floor in the boat;D And my favorite-the two solid chocolate fishy's she brought home to Daddy ;D

Thats been my problem, so let me say as a newer fella here thats finally learning somethin, I want confidence in knowing what I'm using and using it for what. I look back now and admit that I knew Jack nothen on Rods and reels as I thought I did since being on the BR. If ya wanna be serious on catching some fish then I believe ya gotta have some confidence in what your using its not a money thing, its a "Do I know what got thing" Just a thought.

I've had it a few years and knew it was old but, I talked to a fella at www.realsreels.com and was looking for a gear Ratio for it, this is when I came across on how old it really could be, I love that stuff. Wayne(at realsreels) has an awsome sight check it out, he did a good history on it. This is what he got back with me on. Hi Tony Yea this is the reel that made ABU famous. Can't exactly date this model suffice to say between 53 and middle 60's as , these reels were issued in serialized form till them I have then dating bake to no serial number at all! Yours would be late in the batch before dating ..I suggest middle 60's. Thats great you feel that way and see somethings we don't but, to be honest I think thats a front they put on to you guys, just like those at work that act a certain way around the boss. In the 90's I did the stupid ral estate game and had 3 rentals that totalled 7 units, everyone was on section 8 and I thought I'd like it(guaranteed my money) but, I'm seriuos here-there is not one thing I can say about them that says they are trying-cause every tenent did not try for anything. Heck my youngest one was 20 years old and he was on section 8 with the help of his mom on knowing how to handle the system. This kid was healthy as an ox to me and did not hold a job cause everything was free for him. countless others as well. I seriuosly think they put on a front to you guys, not to say your fools but, we get scammed alot and we find out later alot. We should have a time limit on those that choose not to get a job and not stop the help for those that still need it while climing out of the ghetto with a job. :exclamation
