  1. X2- You gotta tread lightly. I don't think I thought about such things when I was a teen. I was four on the floor everywhere I went. Bud's, I wish I had someone like you to remind me of that back in the day. Yep, twice last year we messed up on some night time cat fishen cause we tried to strattle some mud rutt holes made by the mudders and hung up on our truck frame, so yea its still fresh in my mind >
  2. I'm not beating up on ya here but, Strange question if this is your Hobby? Surley you and some buds got a Trans in a garage some where? By the way your not the one thats tearen up the dirt roads around the fishen holes causen the owners greaf and making them post "NO TRESPASSING" sighns up :-? Now I'm beaten up on ya ;D
  3. Nice vid, miss hunten already :'(
  4. No problem, was curious about it. But, when you think Big you do it, man TV show, wow. You just made me curious about that now, how do you test that water? A Pilot-or something put on YouTube to see how many hits you get? That don't sound cheap. Next thing you know Glenn you'll have your own " Apprentice " show ;D Be sure to put Mr. Trump on first I'd like to see you tell him "your fired" for a change, that would be nice ;D
  5. First off let me say that Bass Resource is awsome. The knowledge around these forums is over-whelming to me. I've been here since last summer and only now have the confidence to shop for a reel or rod. Its took that long to read thru most things to have what knowledge there is in me ;D so, I can't imagine how you Mods keep up with watching the forums. I so appreciate what you guys have done to have a site like this for fishing heads to share Now my Question: Whats Next? Have you'all considered trying a Magazine, as for costs and risk, would it be less risky to try one and we beable to order it on line? I for one would buy it I love the site and compared to a mag this being "LIVE" is no comparison but, was wondering if you have considered trying one Mag? Other than that thanks to ya all
  6. All the info here at UBFRG has been so beneficial for me, I look so forward to trying out the things I'm learning here. One for the tackle section: Do you use a snap or a swivel and when :-? I've been using the interlock swivel mainly because of only two poles I only had when I went to the lake, so I'd swicth out quicker. A fella at work Friday said the best way to hook up to tackle was nots only. Now he talks just to talk, so he has some tall stories sometimes, but it did get me to thinking more about the approach to this. Do you use'em and if so when or what kind of tackle do you match it with, jigs, jerk baits etc.
  7. its hard to explain. Best challenge I've ever experiance and one of the top things to ever happen to me. Yea, I'd say also "it completes me too"
  8. I mainly cast right handed but, I'm one of those that switch hands to crank right handed too. Now I've been thinken about this and considering on working to change it to left hand cranken(still casting right handed) reaction time will benefit Be curiuos on results. You can vote for more than one.
  9. Full Blooded Italian I can't tell ya no more about the family
  10. I'll try to look back to find this again but, I read that there was enough stock pile of wood to last us the next 3 years without restocking, which shows us how slow the building market is down. Our customer starts have decreased an average of 40% right now we bid on remoldling and its usually for Apartments not single family. We averaged 700 to 800 windows a day during the summer, last year we averged 500 a day Not good >
  11. Agree Aint Texan its a point you made but, don't forget how much billions USA gives out to other country's that claim to be our friends. I know the old motto "keep your friends close but, your enemies closer" but Shish!! could you amagine using that for health care or free college in the good ol'USA instead:-? Don't forget Chapter 7's-And the credit purchasing we are taught-grandmaw would be turning over in her grave if she knew about that. You know a new married couple say in the early 20's with credit can build a material wealth instantly the same as mom & dad has that took them a life time to build. Differance is mom & dad usually own it all close to free and clear, and said young married couple are paying out that poop shoot for loans. We are not taught anymore how to save or buy wisley. Look at the depression, it taught them to save.
  12. Nope, no money here(got 50 bucks to put in my tank for next week) Just took in a gun I had for awhile that sit around, I'll get more use out of the 22 and fishen rods
  13. Gotcha on that LBH- I remember your comment back some time on that one, Actually that is a old shot of it I stripped the paint off, waiting for some warm air to repaint I also remember you saying that the Bed liner wasn't worth it also?
  14. Cool day for me ;D Traded off my REM700-BDL today for some cool stuff first was this old model Ruger single six 3-screw convertible With money left over I picked up also Spinning combo Daiwa 662MRS 6.6 MEDIUM Pflueger Endeavor Baitcaster 6.3:1 4-bearing IM-7 PFECA66 1M 6.6 action medium My favorite custom pick Pflueger President spinning reel 5.2:1 10-bearing ;D Shimano Sojourn graphite SJS-66MH 6.6 Action Fast ;D ;D I love how light the Shimano is, I compared it to the Daiwa beef stick but, was sold on the Shimano due to the lightness of it Yes I'm happy and I learned what I wanted from you guys on the rod and reels, Thanks
  15. I started, well my son started too, but after seeing LBH's color-we are in the drawing board stage 1436
  16. Well #6, but he's number 1 for us
  17. On fast action-is it for over all controll of the fish? Due to the cover that your fishing in? Seeing if I learned something a little this weekend But, on DavidG's comment on hook setting on a extra fast action means I gotta long way to go here Curiuos Muddy what reel are you pairing up with it?? Gear Ratio and such?
  18. Whew! I thought he was going to sing in his underware again
  19. It depends Some manufacturers label their rods with power and action ratings like Shimano, which are also encrypted in the model number. Others label the power but not the action, however the action of the rod is labeled in the model number like Fenwick or St Croix for ex: Techna Av AVC60MM ( Moderate ) Thanks Raul, I didn't know that
  20. am I correct that some rods just state power and not action? As a greeny on rods "frustrating" is a understatement. Now what time I get at the fishen stores is limited with studying how they have the rods laid out, so you can sort thru what your after. Limited meaning-how other promotions are laid out for you to grab. so as you may know the bait monkey ends up making you a crazed whats new on the shelf idiot. I know I need to purposely to go and read thru the rods Compared to the budget shopping stores, I think the more expensive stores have a great layout on rods. They catagory them exactly and I'm able to walk up to what I'm intrested in. We just got a GanderMountain and kudos to thier layout. How they have the rods catagoried is awsome for a greeny I guess as I get more familiar with rod Power and action together ,I'll be able to pick up a bargain better : But, Am i correct on this -labeling of power and action on rods(say at walmart) don't have both statements on the rods? compared to GM Thier rods state both on them right there? Or am I greeny more than I know :-?
  21. >:(no way man, Leave all that alone. Totally un-cool to cut down trees because your broke and you have no permission to do it. Can't stress enough, disrespectful A very big NO! NO! > PERMISSION FIRST from the owners!!
  22. ;D I Guess its not all about the gear ;D Or experience, Hey LBH see if you can get her to join UBR and give us some pointers ;D http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou080102_tj_barbiefish.477f31f.html
