Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

Haven't been up there this year, but Jenness is one of my favorite places to fish in NH - perfect sized lake for Kayak fishing.  It was a quick drive for me from downtown Portsmouth, and I'd hardly ever see people fishing there. Although, I know there are bass all over that that pond, I've caught my biggest large mouth on the Northeastern part of the lake.  There are a few deep holes that have always produced well for me on that side.  Dont be afraid of the shallow water and rocks on the southern side.  Ive seen many good sized bass pulled out of those rocks the past few seasons.  Good luck!

North wood lake there were a couple on beds I'm assuming they'd be seeing as how it's a smaller body of water

Hi Mike. Glad to see you're enjoying the spring fishing in beautiful NH! We're about done with the post spawn bounty here in SoFlo. Was out on a boat along Alligator Alley in the everglades yesterday in the 90+ degree heat and glaring sun, and we tried every trick in the book and caught zero fish.

I bet it's getting rough out there. I miss Florida man it's been cold up here for spring so the water temps are still low so it's hard to get on anything of size that was the biggest fish we've gotten so far this year. Hope all is well man I'll be back down in March again and will have to slay umm.

Thanks, friend. It'll only get better. Tight lines!

Fished hard all day on Jenness and ended up in 3rd, not bad for my first kayak tournament I'd say! Lots and lots of fish on beds, nearly all my fish came from drop shots and senkos surprisingly. Ended the say with 89.5 inches with a kicker 20 inch that weighed 4lb 4 oz. I was off from big fish by .5 inches, oh well. Hopefully I'll find a fat post spawn fish next month at Harvey Lake.

Where is the launch on Harvey Lake? I live on pleasant lake and have been wanting to try my yak in some smaller bodies. I did catch this guy from freezes pond on Friday last week

Heard it was a good day to fish my buddies did well to. Ed took first and my buddy Paul must have tied you. A lot of fish taken in less then a foot of water. They said the same thing about senko's and jig's did very well.

Ed is a d**n good fisherman I have to say,  turns out I finished 2nd behind him and not third after some math errors were corrected. Definitely was a good day to be on the water. Here's the 2nd biggest fish of the day.

Anybody have nice fishing spots in southern nh? Besides the common ones like tinker, mines falls and stuff? I have heard about this place called gotchatum brook but have 0 idea where it is.

Thanks!

One of the better spots for large bass is the Nashua river, but there are lots of other good places to fish. A few I can think of is, Massabesic in Auburn, Canobie lake in Salem, Powwow in Kingston, Baboosic lake in Amherst, Contoocook in Jafrey. These are some of the larger lakes/ponds in southern NH, but there are hundreds of smaller ponds that can produce large bass. Do what I do, grab a NH gazetteer and search. You'll be surprised at what a small pond/river can produce.

Got on some chunks today.  Had to work for em though. Hope everyone is enjoying Memorial Day Weekend!  Tight lines!(5:28).jpeg

Had a good weekend bassin with the girlfriend and a couple buddies and brought my little cousin out for a few. caught 5 in total biggest was my fish ran about 3lbs 5oz. Glad I got the girl on a fish all in all great weekend for fishing.

Finally took my boat out at Swains for the first time this season. Just under 2 dozen but nothing over 2lbs in size the lake is in post spawn. Black jigs with craw/brown chiggars, texas smoke wacky rig and a couple banging a squarebill around rocky areas. Hoping to get many more fishing in this season. Have fun all.

First frog fish of the year was a good one! It went 3.7, the fish were going nuts yesterday morning on top..

Got this fatty last week on a wacky rigged yum dinner.  Saw 2 fish hanging out and pitched to them and she slammed it immediately.  Weight was 6.75 lbs, my new PB!  I went to the same spot a couple days later, and saw a lot of fish cruising and just hanging out shallow.  I threw a whole bunch of different baits at them and managed to annoy a couple into biting.  I've also been up to stumpfield a few times the last week or so, pulled a 4lber and a 3 3/4 lb er out of there.  First was on a lizard, the other was on a dropshot.

It was a great day on the water.  Got 3 nice chunks and a few average fish.  The Wacky Worm was smokin' them today. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Monsoons are coming tomorrow!
