  1. Haven't posted much lately but I've been fishing as much as I can with college and all that good stuff. Hit up Merrymeeting this weekend with my buddy Micropterus to prefish for a kayak tourney later this month. It was a tough day but with my new Hook 5, it made things slightly easier. We saw fish cruising up shallow on points but there wasn't much love. Ended up getting the 1st fish on a wacky rigged weighted senko near a dock on a point, weighing 2 lb 6 oz. The next bass came a while later for Micropterus on a bladed jig. It was probably 2 hours before we got into any more fish, on the last point we ended getting into some on blade baits, bladed jigs and a lipless crank ripped off the bottom in 15 FoW. We only caught 5 all together and paddled over 8 miles but ended with 3 lb 6 oz, 2lb 14 oz, 2lb 6 and 2 more over 2. All in all not a bad day and I made a game plan for the tournament so it was a success.

  3. Be careful who you ask about bass fishing up there lol, not kidding a lot of the guys are strictly trout fly fishermen and you might get some real odd looks if you're towing a boat and bait casters. If I were you I would hit some rivers/streams and the big lakes for some fat trout then hit umbagog or something on the way down. I have heard of bass in Back lake but that's about it.
  4. Hey all so this is sort of last minute but I was at the gas station and met a high school kid with a bass boat whom was looking for someone to be a boat captain for their tournament on Winni at 8 Saturday morning. I would love to be their captain but I'm moving into school that day so not sure if I can swing both. If anyone is willing to donate their time let me know. Thankso all
  5. I'll be moving into woodside on the 27th and will be fishing hopefully that weekend. Do you have a kayak or something that floats Lol ?
  6. Fished another derby at Harvey Lake on Saturday. It started out partly cloudy and quickly turned to overcast with a stiff breeze. I wasn't finding many fish shallow so I found a hump coming up from 20fow and fish were stacked. Lots of dinks but ended up getting a 5lb 21.5 inch fish on a dropshot which was fun, another 20 inch on a senko and 18 inch as well and 2 14.5 inch fish on cranks. Finished in first place with big fish too. All in all a good day of fishing.
  7. Fished Harvey lake today to check it out before Saturday. Pretty weird day all in all, ended up dropping a veritas 2.0 in the drink which sucked. Left and bought some goggles and went diving for it but no luck. After I sucked it up and headed back out to get some fishing in and glad I did. Got 5 dinks almost back to back casts then headed to the weeds and got a 4lb 1 oz and a 4lb 3oz within 5 minutes of eachother. All in all it it was decent, the rod can be replaced but if anyone sees a combo floating around let me know lol.
  8. Ed is a d**n good fisherman I have to say, turns out I finished 2nd behind him and not third after some math errors were corrected. Definitely was a good day to be on the water. Here's the 2nd biggest fish of the day.
  9. Fished hard all day on Jenness and ended up in 3rd, not bad for my first kayak tournament I'd say! Lots and lots of fish on beds, nearly all my fish came from drop shots and senkos surprisingly. Ended the say with 89.5 inches with a kicker 20 inch that weighed 4lb 4 oz. I was off from big fish by .5 inches, oh well. Hopefully I'll find a fat post spawn fish next month at Harvey Lake.
  10. Headed to Jenness Pond in the morning for a kayak tournament, hoping to do well. Anyone know if fish are on beds up that way ? Thanks!
  11. Fallfish or River Chub, whatever you want to call it. If you squeeze them while unhooking them they make a really weird squealing noise lol. Catch them frequently when searching for trout with the fly.
  12. Hit up Rocky Pond on Friday and fished from 3-5. Managed a lber on my first cast with a speed shad then nothing else besides a few bumps on a crank. Great to be catching fish in early March though!
  13. Saw those on the shanty, didn't catch the usernames being the same lol. VERY nice fish, hopefully I can get some of those in open water soon enough.

  15. Heading to Miami Saturday night and was planning on fishing all day before I get on the plane. Anyone know if the ice is out around the Deering area? I know a few ponds I'd like to hit but I'm not sure if they're still hard water or not. Thanks
  16. Says it will be around 40 on Saturday/Sunday and sunny so maybe Jitterbug and I will hit up either Sandy, Round or another pond in the area. That or I will drive north in search of safe ice or a river worth fly fishing. If you can't tell already I'm itching to fish lol. Thank for the updates and advice!
  17. Finally coming out of hibernation. I know this weekend is going to be chilly but has anyone checked the ice in the Milford area ? Wondering if there are any ponds iced out already, not looking to hit the Nashua river as I don't want to deal with the high flows. Hopefully spring comes in full force within the next few weeks !
