Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)

Featured Replies

Aright guys so I have been working hard lately and I figured I would treat myself to one more setup haha. What I am looking to get is a spinning combo that has a 7ft Medium action rod .Was thinking around 200 I wanna spend. Any suggestions on rod and reel? would mostly be used for T rigs, Jerk baits, Maybe some spinner baits and top water. Something well rounded. I was looking into maybe getting a U.S Reel. I like using lighter line so It seemed pretty good.

Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

Got out for a few hours on Horseshoe pond in Merrimack. Just a few small bass, each on something different. I couldn't figure out any pattern but was happy to catch what I caught. Going to got to Mill Pond in the morning and part of the Nashua River. Still looking to catch something that is picture worthy on this post

Don't worry about the picture worthy stuff put up what looks good to you I certainly don't catch the biggest. Half the time the picture I put up happens to be the clearest shot I have. Hoping to get out someday again but working on 20 days straight till Thursday.

Thanks Bob, but I actually caught one today worth posting. Just need lesson from wife on how to download pics to PC. Coming later, I hope

Just doing some organizing on a couple of soft plastics

I'll make it easier for you to organize by taking those Keitech baits off your hand.Nice selection.

What would you guys do differently, if anything, in a lake where alewife are the primary forage? I will be fishing a lake like this soon.

Chatterbait & Rage Rooster 8 3 14

Got out yesterday afternoon for the first time in a while. Fished for an hour and only got 1 bite, but luckily it was the 1 bite I was looking for. Got it in 8 feet of water on a chatterbait with rage rooster trailer. This was the first time I have seriously disagreed with my scale, which said it only weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces. Still a satisfying catch.

Has anyone heard how the fishing is on Winni? Thinking of heading out of either Winter Harbor or Lee's Mills Thursday if the wind isn't to bad.

I was there last week and it was ok. Nothing of size caught. 1-1.5. I fish with a guy that doesn't like to fish to fast so that may have been part of the problem. Water temp on my unit showed 78. Tons of milfoil in lees area. The few we caught were around the edge and caught with soft plastic. We didn't get out of lees, green basin, and around suiseville.

Hey guys, I've had no luck from shore near the seacoast but have more spots to try. Been going down to Nashua to meet up with a buddy that has a 10' crawdad. Recently we went to Flint Pond in tyngsboro but it was impossible to get within 100 yards of a majority of the shoreline. Caught a couple bass under one of the three docks on the pond with senkos. I was throwing a frog out too and kept getting hits but it was my first time and setting the hook has a learning curve.

My buddy wanted to fish some deeper lures and the milfoil/pads were out of control so we headed to mill pond in Nashua. Few small bass, couple perch, a pickerel and a sunnie so it was a good 3 hours. Circled the whole pond then ended right in the middle throwing jigs through the channel running from the launch straight to the river entrance. This was about 6 o'clock and they were jumping in pods, 3-5 at a time in the same spot.

Threw a bladed jig in with a rage craw and a second after it hits the water BOOM, almost took the pole outa my hands. It was a ML medium action pole and the thing was bent in half.

Perspective isn't great but it was 5lb 1oz. Biggest one this season.

KingZ, I might have caught that same fish on Sunday. It weighed the same and caught it in the middle of the pond. I got it on a RatLTrap after a long cast and a great fight. Will try to post the picture soon, need lessons on how from the camera I used. My biggest of the year too

I fished an afternoon tournament yesterday from 4-8 pm. The fishing was great. We went to our first spot and immediately started catching fish. After 30 minutes or so we had our limit but nothing big. We were fishing around weeds beds and the adjacent flats out from the weed beds casting jigs, worms, and frogs. We stayed in the same cove all evening. My partner caught one over 4 lbs. I caught 3 over 3 lbs. My partner finished off our limit with our 5th decent fish. There were some culling issues and the scale he had wasn't accurate at all but we weighed in 16.66 lbs for 5 fish and finished in 1st place. First tournament win of the year for me. Heck yeah.

First full day off in three weeks thursday I will be fishing Lovell lake. And when I'm done fshing it helps to have Poor Peoples Pub right across the street to finish the day off right.

Some day I will get there....

While getting ready to head out fishing on Great East last Thursday a gentleman asked if it was OK to shoot some pictures of my boat on the lake from his aerial drone. Today he emailed me the picture looks pretty cool to see how things look from a height of 200 feet up. He said he will send me more pictures soon. You need to see this on a large screen viewing on a phone doesn't look right.

Bassin  nice tanker ,  i would have guessed it much bigger,   i would get a new scale.

Nice fish out of Mill pond also,   keep hitting that place and you will find some real winners.

Did Lovell lake for a few hours before all the storms started to come in. We basically fished in front of a cabbage line in 8-12 ft of water with jigs and chatter baits and picked up a couple dozen 2-4 pound fish before the lightening started. This was my biggest at 4.3 today. Once the boat was on the trailer we went to the pub across the street and watched it downpour with some beer in our hands.

4.3 Lovell Lake, Wakefield NH

Got out for a few hours today before i had to go get my silly windshield replaced. nothing over 4lbs, had what looked like a decent 5lber dart out from under a little mat and go for my jig as i was reeling it in, happened so fast and close to the boat actually made me jump a little lol.

In other news i just ordered a Powell Endurance 764 after reading so much positive feedback about them, excited to give it a try.

Speaking of jigs, I have a bunch that are lead,it is illegal to use them, correct? Someone at Bass Pto said they can be used until next year, but everything I read from the state says I can't. What do you guys know?

as of right now i believe if it is a lead jig you can use it as long as it is 1 inch or greater along its axis, lead sinkers have to be 1 oz or heavier.

as for how long these rules will last, couldn't tell you, the loon nuts are hot on our tails

Ok thanks, I thought that was how it is. I have 1/4 and 1/2 ounce Stanley jigs from the 80's that I will have to dispose. I'm not a good jig fisherman so I won't mind too much, but the old spinner baits are going to be painful to recycle

Drone Shot of me Great East NH,ME

Cool Drone shot from last week of me on Great East.

Fished Mill Pond this morning, a few small fish. Then paddled up to the Everett Turnlpike Bridge. Nice peaceful trip, fished a little but just enjoyed the ride.

Let me ask you Nashua River anglers, do you prefer parking at Mill Pond and fish north or parking atTilton Road and fishing south?.
