Keep it NH only that's fine but calling me out on the biggest fish I ever caught and worked very hard to get that is insulting and bs.

I just don't understand why people from other then southern NH post to this topic. It would make more sense to start another one from Maine, VT etc.

your being a dooshbag..back off. This guy has been a consistent contributor to this forum for a year. Nobody else has questioned him about being in Maine. While its great that you started the thread years ago, it has become what it is now. Welcome back, glad you can participate more often now, but stop being a fartbox.

I can't believe you just did that.  It is a joy for us to look at Mainebass1984's fish all the time.  He catches straight lunkers, and puts in a ton of hours of hard work for them. Just because he potentially smashed your PB about 900x doesn't mean that you have to kick him out of the thread.  If anyone should not come back to this thread it should be you.  Hopefully no feelings got hurt.

The way I see it, this thread has evolved into a New England thing, if for nothing else, than just for participation from others that understand our weather patterns, fronts, fish here in general. I for one welcome the input from anybody, but in particular, I pay attention to what's happening throughout the northeast. Mainebass's contributions to this thread have been very forthcoming, and helpful as well, to myself and others. In fact, this year he has smashed me,as far as big fish go. Let's all just fish, share, and have a good time.

Oh yeah, and we are tearin up Maine this weekend, so be prepared for an onslaught of fatties pics! I'm looking forward to fishing with someone with as much passion for the sport as myself, and someone who works very hard on the water to find those bigger fish. There will be mayhem.

If I were a bass in southern Maine this weekend, I would be terrified.

I have personally seen MaineBass fish and he is a stud. Most of the time he doesnt even use a rod and reel...even saw him land a 4 with his toes this year.

Any idea if/when they draw down Highland?  It's gotta be prime big fish time there now, but Saturdays have been horrible for me.

Torn on where I should go fishing tomorrow might be Swains, Lovell, Horn or Great East who know's with the way the big fish have not been biting I would fish Northwood but I can't help but feel bad for the bass in that lake. I think I need to shake up my tackle a bit and follow MaineBass1984 advice and bang the crank baits on the bottom structures. This weekend got invited to fish a lunker tourney again in Maine. 

Had a great evening on the water tonight. There was steady wind while the sun was up, and I managed a 3-0, 3-1, 3-4 and a 4-9 largemouth. All came in 5-6 feet of water, near the bottom with a bluegill pattern swim jig + rage craw trailer retrieved very slowly. The second the sun started falling behind the trees, the wind completely stopped and it was like someone turned off a "feeding switch". I wasn't able to get back on them after that, but will try again tomorrow.

Jay, I'm not sure when they draw it down,but I would guess it'll be down by the end of October. The laydowns and weed edges in Pickerel Cove on that lake in the fall, OH,BABY! Hang on to your hat! Few other places there, but I'd have to show ya, which would be cool, ya know? Schedules are tough, I know.

Fishing Swains today going to bring my silent fishing partner Cosmo.

Fished Jenness pond in Northwood yesterday. Fished in the morning, all bass caught on or around rocky points on a double Indiana blade spinnerbait with tan and white skirt. Did manage 2.7 and 3.9 pound LM, all others smaller. That pond always seems to be windy!

Did Swains yesterday just one fish on a chatterbait they have already started drawing it down almost a foot down from the last time I fished it and the water is very stained,

Fished Naticook this morning, lots of small fish in several varieties. Then fished Horseshoe in Merrimack and caught a monster of a pickerel, easily the biggest one I've ever caught or seen. It took a long time to get the hook out so I didn't get measurements. Great fight, I'm guessing it was well over 5 pounds, very thick fish
