Mmm Hmmm. Lizards are just as deadly.

Ps- Turtle still holds my personal highest numbers day ever. Over 75 bass, most of which were between 3 and 5 lbs, all on a C-rigged Lizard (Wat. Red). The place was packed with boats all around the entire perimeter, not catching fish, and there I was, out in the middle, catching bass after bass, sometimes on 3 or 4 consecutive casts. People were looking at me funny.

Went out for some smallmouth today and we got what we wanted! The first fish I hooked up with was without a doubt my biggest smallie... I thought I was on the bottom until I felt her head shake, then

Shane and I got out today, fished a new sport for the first time and put together an alright day. Lots of pickerel, some pretty small bass but I did manage my biggest fish of the year SO FAR at 6lbs o

  • What's up, everyone?! Figured I'd bounce on here, say hi. I got so tied up in chasing fish this year, I forgot to do anything else. I hope you all are happy and healthy in this new year, and have big

Going to try my luck on Lovell lake Sunday I have always driven by it but never fished it. Probably because I was always at Poor Peoples Pub across the street. A good friend told me several 6 and 7 pounders have been caught on it already this year.

Nashua river tomorrow morning about 4am till about 8 am,,,

To be hoest I was expecting more out of turtle but like you mentioned I was one of the minions fishing the perimeter and it was garbage. Spent more time taking weeds off the line, which would be fine Iif I caught something.

I will have to give it another shot sometime next week and try the c- rig. Thanks shanej.

think im going to try stumpfield marsh tomorrow. anyone fished it and willing to tell me some secrets to catch the big ones. i just started fishing for bass last year so trying to learn all i can.

3/8 oz Black n Blue swim jig with a matching Baby Craw trailer at the Stump. Don't waste your time flipping the obvious, visible trees. Get off shore, and fish deep and slow. There's nice fish there, just tough to find 'em. Good luck!

I know you will see many great types of lure presentations here and structure ideas. A good pair of polarized glasses do wonders, what is working for me is looking for bright green grass at the 6-8 ft range then I cast to the deeper side of it and bring it to the shallow side. texas rigged worms or wacky rigged is getting all my fish over the 2 pound range. I like to look at what color the dragon flies are, and my go to color are watermelon green with red specks, pumkingseed green or any of the junebug colors on sunny days, black with either blue or red specks on cloudy days. I like to punch through the healthy lily pads with a lizard baits or a short fast retrieve on top with a floating frog. I only use my depth finder when I have the big motor on and turn it off once i hit the area I like, hence the glasses. I bring lots of gatorade because I will fish alot in one spot because theres no such thing as just one big fish at good structures. But this is what is working for me on my boat.

a big bunch of these 13 - 17 inch smallmouth in the Nashua river today

Still, not a bad day. At least you're figuring out the fish. A lot of people are struggling with that.

i had fun on the water but i skunked out.

7 fish today. Best 5 went 8 pounds, so nothing huge. Caught them in heavy cover with 3/8 green pumpkin jig with rage baby craw trailer, 7" smoke senko and black/blue Texas rigged rage craw. Mix of colors and profiles. Best fish (3 pounds) was on the big fat senko. They slam that big thing. Even my most careful pitch sometimes makes a small splash with these things. They are so long and heavy, they land funny in the water. I probably spook some fish, but that bait makes 'em angry. You don't need to worry about tight lines - they jerk the rod out of your hands. I learned about this bait from other people on the water who were using them.

my best producer this year is 5 inch senkos weightless, i started reeling in and thought i hooked a tree i casted into and caught the fish that in my pic

Did Lovell Lake in Wakefield NH for the first time time today, caught 23 including this fat one I don't count any fish smaller then tourney size. 12 inches

Lovell Lake NH

Three quarters of the fish caught were smallies and all the bass were well fed fish.

I will be back on this lake when the tourists are gone for sure

turtle at 6 pm today

Excellent fun at Turtle last night.  7 fish in 2 hours.  Nothing over 19 inch , but all good fun fish.   left my phone at home , so no pics of anything.  It was nice and quiet though.  Only 2 other boats , a kayak and no wind.

It's nice when that place is like that. What depth were you getting bit?

I am going camping this weekend at Squam Lake. Never been there before. Anyone have any tips on that location? Would like to catch some nice small mouth there.

I fished from the launch area to the rocky area where the buoy is but stayed to the right of the buoy, Seemed like the ones i caught were in the 10 - 15 foot range of the  4 that were on the bottom. The other 3 were in the pads behind the rocks.  I fished that back section with a white weedless mouse dipped with spike it garlic every few casts.  Just let it sit and twitch.

Only had a short bit but got this guy on a rage craw bama colored TX-rigged. Been a week with nothing so I am happy :)

One more to add, sorry for the dirt. She inhaled the rage craw, the hook was almost poking out its butt. Had to lay her down to get it out :(. Love the rage craws especially the watermelon/red flake!

Niiice!

i fished stumpfield and got 2 fish. shouldve been 4 but i think my knot came undone twice. first was a pound/ pound and a half, didnt get a weight because he inhaled senko and was bleeding a little. second was 2.95 pounds. no pics because my son ran off with my camera and couldnt find it.

Hey guys, FNG checking in to say "hey".  I'm Ken from Hopkinton, raised over in Northwood.  I live a half mile from Stumpfield and spend most of my time there, but try to fish a few new lakes/ponds each year.   Been lurking for a while, figured it was time to jump in with both feet.  Have had a pretty good spring/summer....no PB's, but several piggies in the 4-6lb range.

Hey DevilDoc, I am a DevilDog...perhaps we pounded some of the same ground??
