Stuff With The Kvd Name On It

Featured Replies

My last club tournament I discovered a pattern....all my fish involved a KVD branded item. A KVD 1.5 squarebill, KVD swim jig, KVD Coffee Tube (color KVD kick). The only other item was a zoom lizard but I did use KVD line and lure conditioner. My partner suggested I get rid of anything without the KVD brand.....I'm thinking about it LOL

Many of the pros have endorsed all sorts of junk. I don't really blame them too much. They are just trying to make a living. I just am careful what I buy. KVD is a very smart guy, and as for as I know, everything that has his name on it is a good quality product at a fair price. I know that when you are at the top it is easier to discriminate when choosing sponsors, but he has won my respect as a fisherman and as an honest guy. Whether or not his signature stuff is worth what you have to pay is a personal decision.

I've pretty much found the same thing. If it is a KVD lure, it will generally produce. I was skeptical at first for the reasons K_Mac suggests. But the more of the KVD stuff I use, the more fish I catch. Caffeine Shads, for another example, work better for me than Flukes. Just starting using the Ocho's recently and they seem to be at least the equal of the Yamato Senko so far, but time will tell there.

Whatever gives you confidence, I assure you the bass do not know who KVD is ;)

Not sure about that, I think 90 percent of them have met KVD at some point over the years. LOL

The only thing that bothers me about KVD name on lures is that I wish his cranks actually came with the same hooks he actually uses, other then that I have had fairly good luck on KVD name lures.

Personally I never choose to use or not use a any product because of a professionals endorsment or name on the product. However that being said; I have and continue to use the input and opinions on products given by the members of this forum to help me decide what I use. This place is LOADED with VERY knowledabe folks who are eager to help.

WHAT!!!!

BASS DO NOT KNOW WHO KVD IS?

Catt, they not only know who KVD is but in Louisiana they know who Les MIles is.

Come on, give the bass some slack. I am sure they know KVD and have his picture in their digs.

They will be happy next January when LSU wins the BCS and Bamasux gets put back on probation.

Whatever even my mom knows who KVD is!

"You Got It" but they'll know who you are when you slam a little steel in their Jaw... BOSS ;)

I catch more fish with KVD stuff because I primarily fish KVD stuff. I can't catch fish on lures I don't use.

However, it always seems that when things are slow with other lures, if I throw on one of his Sexy Shad cranks or something similar, I'm always landing more fish. Maybe it's just in my head, but I've been happy with every single KVD lure I've purchased in the past few years.

Also, the thing that is really nice about his stuff is that it's actually pretty affordable. I've had a few muskie's & large northerns completely destroy/bite off (no leaders obviously) a few of the KVD cranks on Lake Minnetonka here in MN, and it doesn't hurt so bad when I'm only losing a couple/few bucks on a KVD lure vs. >$8 lures that other brands are selling.

Call me a shill, but I've been very happy with his stuff...
