  1. I use mine for topwater when the weather warms up. Pop R's and Sammies.
  2. Siebert Outdoors Sniper Jig. My go to finesse jig.
  3. I've used a Yum Pumpkin Head for bigger worms. To get a 4/0 or 5/0 hook you have to go to 1/4 oz.
  4. It's well deserved. Mike is first class and so are his products. They work great for me,
  5. I have many different brand rods but my favorite is an old G Loomis GLX. Also my most expensive rod. Bought it used a long time ago and never regretted it. It's the one rod that is always on my boat. 7' MHF so its an all around work horse.
  6. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it.
  7. Yep, It's my go to finesse jig. I use 5/16 and ask Mike to use 36 strand count. Use your favorite color but I have most of my success with Bama Craw and use a tiny paca craw for a trailer.
  8. Thanks for having me as a guest on your boat. Had a great time fishing with you. Hopefully will get to do it again next year.
  9. I'll be getting there Wednesday evening (not sure if I'll make it for dinner) and leaving Saturday morning. Looking forward to some good times and good fishing!!
  10. I'm in on the KY Lake trip. Will arrive Wednesday but have to leave Saturday evening. Non Boater so I hope someone will put up with me. Look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones!!
  11. True this, I've tried different stuff and quite frankly I'm not sure I'm a good enough fisherman to really tell the difference except maybe for sink rate. I'll keep trying different stuff, I went from P line CX to Red Label Flouro on most set ups. I think I'm catching a few more fish with the flouro but I attribute that to my skills improving more than the line change. I think when you are used to something and it is working for you it's a big confidence builder. Some folks swear confidence is one of the most important factors in successful fishing.
  12. Has anybody used Gander Mountain's house brand fluorocarbon line? Looking for impressions and opinions. It's pretty reasonably priced.
  13. Take care of yourself Mike, hope to see you on the water somewhere next year!!
  14. Wish I could have but will plan on next year whether official or not!! Been to several and always had a great time. I hope y'all have another big time and land some BIG'UNS!!
  15. Threw a brand new Sammy way up into a tree a few years ago. My buddy still considers it one of our all time best mishaps.
  16. Sexy Shad or Citrus Shad
  17. Green Pumpkin, Bama Craw, Black & Blue
  18. Top notch, I too have bought several reels from them. No issues whatsoever.
  19. Glad the surgery went OK Mike. Hope you have a speedy recovery and get back on the water soon.
  20. Congrats Kent, should be a fun job!! Two thoughts: 1- Will we finally find out who really makes BPS reels? 2- Will roadwarrior join the Carbonlite Posse?
  21. Funny, I've had the opposite experience about hanging up. I feel these hang up the least of any shakey head I've used. The lake I normally fish is very rocky too. I'm using 3/16 oz. I have had very good success with this just twitching the rod tip then reeling up slack (kind of shake and drag)
  22. I've been using mine as a trailer on a 1/2 oz Siebert Football jig and whacking them. My boat partner also used some of mine on a Biffle Head and had similar results. Hope I don't run out before they're released.
  23. Well I have nothing but good things to say. Our club had a tournament this past Saturday and I finished second on the non boater side (the guy that finished first is just a better fisherman than most). All my limit fish were caught on two baits: 1- Siebert Outdoors 1/2 oz football jig trailed with a Rage Bug (all green pumpkin) 2- Megastrike E-2 Shakey Head with a green pumpkin Trick Worm. The shakey head really does avoid hang ups. This is by far the most snag free shakey head I have ever fished. I only used one the whole day and fished it about 50% of the time. The Siebert jig and rage bug were killer. Also, my boater partner finished first on the boater side using the biffle bug jig head....but borrowed one or two of my rage bugs to use instead of the biffle bug...it made a positive difference...I think four of his limit were caught using the Rage Bug on the Biffle Head. And by the way......all the above plastics were dipped in JJ's Magic (clear)
