Impressions Of The Rage Bug

Featured Replies

During the Bass Resource Road trip this year I had the opportunity to fish the new Rage Bug a little bit and have been fishing the few I have left.  To say the least in one day the Bug quickly became my favorite creature styled bait I own.  It is a little slimmer design then some of the brands I have fished and seems to glide through the water easier while having more limb movement due to the Rage designed curves.  I am very impressed with this bait.  It fits my style of fishing creature baits perfectly.  I have also found that it is a very easy bait to pitch, and even pulls through the veggies very well with either a punch rig or a flipping weight.  It is an extremely universal creature.  Its one that I definitely will keep in my box.

I've attached a picture of the last two I have.

The black and blue one is on my Tungsten punch rig with an Owner Flipping hook.  The green pumpkin is just to show the bait.

  • Thanks Everyone! TODAY, from what I understand... Siebert Outdoors received the FIRST shipment of RAGE Bugs that were sent to an individual retailer! Now that's BassResource SERVICE

  • Absolutely Deadly!   I gave all my Sweet Beavers away!   I don't know what the color is cause I got a Big-O sack of them from that Big Ole Texan but they are a two tone watermelon (top/Bottom)

I still need to try some other presentations, but I'm killin' 'em Rage Rigged!

I just love that thing.

At least half of the fish I caught at the roadtrip came on the bug in the Bama color, pitching it around all the lay downs we were in.

I'm loving the bug. Its a great bait. So far I've fished it t-rigged and on a drop shot. Next time I'm out I'm gonna have to try it rage-rigged and as a jig trailer

Can you estimate your inventory availability?

What is Rage rigged?

So it's a Texas rigged with a weighted hook?

Mmmm Hmmmm. One of my favorite all time baits.

Seems like I have said that about a few others when they were first introduced.

Baby Craw, Lobster Rage Rigged, Menace and Cut-R come to mind. Right now

The Bug is killin' 'em!

:fishing-026:

How does it compare to the Pit Boss?

I hope they come in Falcon Craw!  A Rage Craw in Falcon Craw is DEADLY on the James River!

Waiting on them being released in TW.  I've already called my local tackle stores and they don't know when they will be released.

love the Bug.....caught some of my best fish on it at the Roadtrip...

great action (as always with all the Rage baits)...and better durability than i thought it may have since it is so soft.

it was awesome to fish a bait before it is actually on the market...thanks Big O...  :wink2:

compared to the Pit Boss similar in size.  I do like the Pit Boss..a lot.  but the Bug definitley has more action. so i think they both have a place.

Way better action on the claws of the Bug, as compared to the Pit Boss, body gives off more vibration, 4" bait, softer, better colors, and Made in the U.S.A.

So if the fish want a slower action, is the Pit Boss better?

Excited to get my hands on these but I'm sure my Craws will hold me over until then.

  • Super User

No, they want you to work it slower. Even in the dead of winter, the higher action baits are preferred. Wakes 'em up!

I ordered some Bama Craw and Blue Craw but it looks like at least another week before they will ship.Hoping this will be available in Falcon Lake Craw down the road....
