'wacky' Ways To Rig A Carolina Rig.

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever tried putting a wacky rigged worm on a carolina rig set up? Do you think it would work? It would combine the 2 best ways to rig a plastic worm. If anyones tried this, or has any other 'wacky' ideas about rigging a plastic worm, please add them.

Might be good in generally open water. Seems it might be snag fest every where else. Your basically dragging a wacky rig. Its not like the wacky rig goes up and down

I use what we call a "finesse" C-rig, well actually two of them ;)

One is simply a Wacky Rig with a pinch on weight 12-20" up the line.

The second is setup is like a normal C-rig but instead of a swivel & weight we use just a swivel to reduce line twist.

Both are extremely effective on post spawn bass!

Yep.

Been there, done that.

Zoom Swamp Crawlers or Trick Worms work great!!!

BassClary, yes, the C-Rig can get hung up and that is a good thing.

The bass are in the structure and that is where you will get your striikes.

That is also why you buy a number of hooks, swivels, weights, etc. in a package with more than one in them.

You can feel what is on the bottom using a C-Rig and you will be surprised at the amount of hidden structure that is on the bottom.

You need to fish Buggs, Gaston and Anna with a C-Rig and feel the bottom and you will have a better idea of why the C-Rig is so effective.

Ask your mom if you can go out and buy a new Ranger with a 22 Merc on it so you can get to those places and fish!!!!!!

I may try this with a weedless hook

.I've caught many nice bass on Rayburn with a c-rigged/wacky. Use a weedless hook with a zoom trick worm. It's called a Kariacky rig down there.

That's a great idea! Why haven't we all tried that?

The whole "Wacky" rig idea is a hang up looking to happen but the number of bass it produces far out weighs any difficulties it causes.

Ive never fished a wack worm on a C-Rig,but I have fished some out of the box ideas on them and caught fish...

1. Crankbait-it floats above the bottom and when you drag it it pulls down and digs into the mud then floats back up.

2. Jerbait-same concept as the cranbait, just a different profile

3. Swimbait-can be killer on deep water humps and ledges!
