Scents

Featured Replies

Just curious if anyone applies scents (ie JJ's Magic etc..) to baits that already have scents built into them. I'm thinking like paca craws that already have a strong anise scent, Berkely Power Bait or Strike King / Rage with their coffee scent. I tend to leave these baits as is when fishing them but with products like Zoom with little scent I'll use an added scent.

I use Fish Formula II with 1/2 oz of 100% anise oil added ;)

Netbait products have Pork Fat cooked into the plastic also. To answer your question YES I do use J'J's on other baits that have sent already.

Yes, JJ's or Megastrike, regardless.

I put a few drops Upperhand Scents in each of my bags of plasitcs, regardless of which brand they are.

I add megastrike to most scented or non scented lures except NetBait products. With the number of bass I catch on NetBait Soft Plastics no reason to add anything to them. Perfect as is IMO. Been also having some good catches lately adding the new Garlic Megastrike to the Havoc Plastics, but still not convinced its as good as the original formula.

Sure do

I add Carolina Lunker Sauce in the Crawlic scent, which I call the Stank, to most of my baits. New bags of Powerbaits don't get hit usually. However, if it's a batch I've had for awhile I don't hesitate to stink them up some more.

...and you know, those coffee scented baits work best in the morning

I've been using scent on my plastics since the early 70's when we would buy anise oil and apply to the bait. For the past few years I use either Kick'n Bass garlic scent or a mixture of 1 oz. mineral oil with 10 drops of pure anise oil.
