Our favorite spot was jumping the past two weeks. We were catching tons of fish 2-4 pounds all last week. Slaying them on all types of lures. Cold front moved through this week and we cant buy a bite now. Its so tough and frustrating. I did manage to catch a nice 2 pounder today on a texas rigged stick worm. Its driving me nuts though cause theres still a few fish shallow that didnt move deep after the front but they got lock jaw. Any post cold front tips and techniques?

They then develope lock jaw.

Fish slow.

Fish plastics on bottom.

Fish plastics on a drop shot to try to find the depth off the bottom they are holding.

When the sun comes out fish the clearest and warmest water you can find.

Fish under boat docks and piers. Check to see if any bites come off a pier in shallow or deep water to find the pattern.

Fish all structure you can. Make multiple casts with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of unlimited to the same structure.

Aggravate them to hit your lure.

Use scent.

Use some color in the plastics.

Remember, they gouged themselves as the front moved through and they are probably not hungry so do as suggested above, aggravate them into hitting your bait.

And read what the other guys suggest, too. Try everything until you find the pattern.

Thanks man, yea right as the front was coming in they were feeding like crazy. Now theyre just sitting deep. Its good though cause at this lake theres tons of shoreline structure with deep water right next to it so its still possible to get em from the bank after the front comes through and they move deeper/

I understand your pain. Bass down here are notorious for getting lock jaw during cold fronts. Sam offers good advice. The only thing I would add is that when the bite gets real tough, I down size everything. Lighter line, smaller bait, where ever possible.

10.Cover Deep Water Efficiently.

I went out yesterday afternoon letting the water warm up and was able to pull 11 fish on topwaters and when the sun cast a shadow on the western shore, I was able to pick up fish on a Yuki bug/shakey head combo. They were tight on brush piles in 4-6ft of water.

Nothing big but at least it kept me busy. I fished from 3:30 -7:30pm
