I'm looking to get my first pair of Costa's, and am wondering what color lenses everyone is using. Their main purpose is for sight fishing but I'll probably wear them for other things to like driving. I want the best color for sight fishing though. I've done some searches but want to get some current opinions. If you could vote in the poll and then tell me why that color I'd appreciate it.

Amber has the best all around range

I have those!!! But I don't wear em when I'm frog fishing. Don't ask.

I use amber and copper.

If I'm not mistaken, almost all Costa lens are based off Amber with a colored polarized finish. Personally I have a pair of green mirror 580 glass lens and its unbelievable how much more clear and sharp they are compared to my polarized oakleys

Green mirror in 580g. They just flat out work. Just don't drop em.

I had the green mirror and couldn't see my gps screen with them so I switched to amber.

Green mirror in the 580 had mine for six years still dont even have a scratch on them and i use them daily

That doesn't make sense. You can either get amber in plastic, or copper in glass. You cant have both.

I was told by the dealer that the amber 580 lens has a copper filter base which is to help give the lighter amber color, compared to the mirror lenses, it clarity.

Don't know for sure but thats what I was told.

The amber and copper lenses are different colors. The Amber doesn't have a copper base either to make it lighter, because the copper is actually darker.

You can get Amber or Copper in Polymer, but only Copper in glass. That's what they use for their mirrored glass lenses in Green Mirror.

Green Mirror 580G Fathoms. Simply incredible. I'm seeing beds in 20 ft while friends with Oakley's and Wiley X's can't even see bottom in 12 ft.

Well, looks like the Costa's Green Mirror 580G's win out... I guess the next question is where can you get them... "cheap"? Ok, cheap isn't going to happen, I assume they price control like Oakley, Wiley X etc do and the prices are pretty much set. Anyone know if there is a reputible distributor who does run low prices if they are not price locked?

Sierra trading post has costa close outs from time to time; I got a discontinued pair off of steep and cheap for 60% off; but it is a site that does one deal at a time so you just have to be patient and watch.
