So I'm fishing with a buddy of mine yesterday, and we're working our way down the shoreline casting to the docks with jerkbaits. I had recently switched colors and was on a 9 fish in a row roll when I hooked a smallie of about a pound and a half. I lifted him into the boat and saw that he was hooked by the front hook of my bait, and the rear hook was around my line.as I reached to grab him he shook, flipped, and dropped into the drink with my brand new Megabass Vision 110 still in his mouth.

i don't know if the hook cut my line or what, but I really thought I was gonna cry like a little girl. It wasn't even a big fish!!! My buddy just looked at me and said " i ain't even gonna bust your chops about it cause that sucks".

I knew when I bought them it would happen sooner or later, but it still hurt!!!

For next time - hang around the area for a while, sometimes the fish will throw the bait and it will come back to the surface - I once had one jump and throw my crank bait almost back in the boat.

But that really is sad wihen you lose one like that - especially one so young

Get some RCX jerkbaits by Luck E Strike. Almost the same bait and they don't hurt nearly as bad to lose.

Dang, that sucks when that happens. I remember when lazer lures came out with the lazer popper and I bought and lost it the same day from a faulty knot... . It happens I guess.

Yea I've been lookin at them, gonna have to give them a try. I like the Visions and I still have 3, but boy that hurt. Wouldn't have minded so much if it was a decent fish, but it was just a dink!!!

Did you check your line for nicks and cuts after every fish and retie after every three fish?

Shad_Master is correct. The bass will try to throw the lure and if it does and the lure floats you may have been able to find it.

When you return to the body of water go back to where you lost the bait and check the shoreline or grass. I have had a catfish break the line, throw the crankbait, and thenpicked up the crank out of the water when the cat rose to the surface a few times trying to throw the bait.

What happend to you was not your fault. It is the Bait Monkey's fault. The Bait Monkey put the evil eye on you so you would have to order a few more Visions.
