Be sure to remove the red meat (center line) completely.

yea, this was a quick cleaning of the filets...i clean them up good before i cook them

Nice catch! We fished below the dam Monday with live shiners on a 2oz split shot with one generator running and didn't catch any between 10:30AM-12:30PM. What were ya'll using for bait, how many generators were running, how close to the dam and how deep? Any topwater? We may go back Sunday early AM.

we used all artificials....mostly Stretch's and other big crankbaits...use a variety to test the different levels of the water column....in the morning we caught them all on topwater pencil plugs. 3 generators tuesday night, and only 1 wednesday morning...we were right up on the dam...tied off to one of the bays

Gotcha... I haven't ever had much luck with running crank baits down there, but we've hit 'em on top like that before with spooks and pencil plugs. From my limited experience, it's been a crapshoot. They're either feeding or they're not.

Thanks for the info!

wow nice catch there. I have to get on some stripers some day. I take it they are tasty..

Nice catch you have there. We like to fish for them when they move up into Spring Creek later in the Summer.

I'm curious, do salt water Stripers taste different from fresh water Stripers?

That's the case with Snook, probably the best eating fish in the world, catch them in fresh water and they taste like soap.

I recently had Striper for the first time at a restaurant in Charleston, amazingly delicious.

Does any of you guys know where I could get into some stripers on the the Alabama side?

Try The Rig in the boils...We don't need live bait anymore!
