Can anyone suggest a good mono line that is sold at Walmart? I don't want to order any and BPS is too far away. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Good old fashion Stren.. can't go wrong with it

Sufix Elite, Sufix Siege, Trilene XL, Berkley Big Game, Trilene XT (in that order)

Never used Stren, but it has a pretty loyal following so it's probably fine too.

Stren. I have been using it for 20 years. No sense in changing what works.

Berkley trilene xl or Berkley big game. I fished them both for a while and still use xl for top waters. stren is ok but trilene xl or big game is the bomb. I guarantee you will not be disappointed in either!

I like Trilene and have used Stren as well.

I have used Stren and Trilene XL. Prefer the XL.

I like Trilene XT, it is a little stiff compared to the XL but a little KVD line conditioner makes it handle great and it is super tough.

Different Walmarts carry different brands depending on where you're located. Most of them carry Trilene Big Game which is good stuff. I've found Spiderwire Super Mono there as well and it's also good stuff. I've been burned by Stren in the past so I can't suggest it.

Walmart, Spiderwire EZ Mono, cheapest price on any mono there and the best in my opinion. I use it all of the time. Never had any problems with breaking off or memory. Good stuff!

Mono?? if I did it would be Trilene Big Game!! Hands down tough and great knot strength. As far as buying it at Wall Mart?? I have seen guys buy line at Wall Mart before and it was a version that was in a couple older packaging's than the company was using at the present time, and not up to par. I always buy my Mono and Fluorocarbon at shops I know sell a lot and don't buy for 100's of stores, I want to know its fresh and hasn't been stored in a warehouse for months or years that were hot cold damp dry and so on. I want it from a controlled climate, the line the guy had was not in good shape, it was more like the line left on your reel from last year. The Fluorocarbons are different as they aren't effected by heat moisture, UV and other storage conditions like Mono. Maybe just a one time thing, I just don't chance it.
