Iphone App For Lake That Is Not In Navionics

Featured Replies

so the lake i primarily fish is about 800 acres but is not in navionics or any other software. I would like a program on my phone that will allow me to track waypoints and mark spots with gps and anything else. Is there an app that can help me?

Just use the gps.

You don't have to have a map for a GPS unit to work. GPS is separate from mapping. The mappiing is just a background for reference on a plotter screen. The GPS functions work the same with or without any background.

You have a sattelite map in the native GPS app - even better. Want a waypoint, drop a pin. I guess I'm not sure what you're looking to do.

I know what your talking about. Their is a APP for Droid phones that lets you set all sorts of things. I haven't found anything like it yet for my iPhone. So I just use the GPS and way points etc...

Motion-X GPS is pretty good for what you are describing. You can drop waypoints, plot your tracks, navigate to a location, etc. and you can also send the track/waypoint info from the app to your email so that you can then use it in other non-iPhone applications (that may be limited to the paid edition, though now that they updated the app.)

I used it for a while hiking and hunting and it worked pretty well, but it drained the battery FAST on my iphone. I upgraded to the Garmin 62 for hunting and kayaking (due to the waterproof aspect, the desktop software, the birds-eye satellite-based maps, better readability, and better battery life)
