chemical reation in plastics

Featured Replies

in trying to make more room i was consolidating my rage tail frogs into the same bag as manns z man hard leg frogs. almost two months later, my manns frogs looked like they had melted. completely disfigured and stuck to the other frogs. didnt even look like a frog. any explainations?

Z-Man products are made of a material that is NOT compatible with the main stream brands of plastic baits. The chemicals act as a solvent and essentially broke down the material in your rage tail products. Other manufactures that use the Elastik (spelling)Strike King, Terminator and so on will also break down your other plastics.  Keep them in their original bags!  Tackle sales people should warn customers not to mix these baits.

Hope that helps.

Elaztech melts when mixed with other baits, I had some SK Zulus in a box and some how a duper fluke got thrown in there last year...it was a mess.

just fizzes and dissolves.

I never mix any plastics even if they are made by the same manufacture b/c the colors usually run weather they are kept in a hot or cool area. Never seen them melt though.
