  1. Has anyone tried to use the Pochs power spinner on one end of a wacky worm rig? I was wondering how and if it works with the proper action on the descent of a wacky worm or does the weight of the spinner pull it down sideways or spinner side straight down where the spinner cant spin properly. Do you need to use these spinners ONLY on a texas rigged worm and stroke it or swim / partially swim it to achieve the designed performance? I would appreciate it if someone that has used these on a wacky worm rig could assist me. Thanks.
  2. I just bought these for my hollow body frogs, thing is, there is no diagram on how to put them on and I could not find a video. There are two ways you can rig them, question is which one is correct. You can rig them where they sit hanging horizontal off the back hovering just above the water or you can pull them under the legs and have them resting in the water or on top of the slop. If you rig them to sit in the water I am afraid that it might mess up the action of the legs and get debris on the hook further impeeding the action. Has anyone tried them before or know which way is correct. Thanks in advance for the advise.
  3. Catch and release is the only option for me. When you keep the huge ones, you take their huge genes out of the mix. My pb did not survive after i caught her, not for lack of trying, i tried to resusitate her for probably 30 minutes, she just kept floating up to the surface and going belly up. I was totally frantic that she would not just give me a tail kick and disappear. Long story short, she died and i felt devestated, still feel bad about it to this day.
  4. 4pds 14oz on a 3/8oz black and blue chatterbait with a black mr twister double tail grub as a trailer. Caught it out of a small pond in southern new jersey.
  5. I have never fished a hollow body frog before. I have purchased some spro frogs and was wondering if someone could give me a breakdown on how to fish them. Thanks.
  6. Do bass ever make spawning beds amongst the pads?
  7. I fish a weightless wacky rig all the time, its my most productive and favorite way to fish.I have been using the o rings for years now and would never go back to rigging them thru the plastic.
  8. I love to flip and pitch a sweet beaver with a punch skirt under a pegged tt weight. It esentially looks like a jig, right, or is this just my misconception. Will this rig work as effectively as a standard jig?
  9. New Jersey - $ 22.50 for general fishing, more if you want a trout stamp.
  10. 5" senko rigged wacky with and "O" ring on a 2/0 or 3/0 wacky hook. Color is important as ur presentation and location, however I dont know what type of water u fish. Watermelon black/red flake, green pumpkin, and black with blue flake are always good starts. You can fish this rig in all types of weather and situations and have a productive day. I always fish slow and always weightless.

I have used them and did not care for them. I prefer a crankbait. The original chatter baits are great if u have not tried them yet. I use 3/8 oz and larger.
  12. I sometimes have problems with the factors #4 treble hooks getting tangled together when the lure hits the water. Its not till I retrieve the lure all the way back that I notice that there tangled. It does not change the vibration on retrieve when they are tangled however I am not sure if it changes the action. As a solution to this problem I changed out the hooks with #8's. I tried several different combos of hook sizes to get the biggest one's on I could. Two #8's did not tangle. I just got done reading an artical on treble hook replacement and one thing that was stated is that even adjusting the treble one size can completely destroy the action to the point of it being actionless. I went down 2 sizes. Has anyone had action problems when increasing or decreasing their hook sizes on crankbaits. Any input would help. Thanks.
  13. X2. I have been trying for the last 2 years for a 5 pounder. 4-14 is my current largest.
  14. There is a lake in NJ that I fish on a normal basis that has fairly clear water. I have noticed in the past few weeks that there are bass that seem to be cruising around in groups from 2 to 5 of them per school. They don't seem to want to eat (what I am throwing anyway), just cruising. It appears they are following the largest bass where ever it goes. Is this unusual for bass. I know that at times bass will congragate in an area and suspend / feed but not follow what appears to be a leader. Can anyone explaine this to me?
  15. Has anyone ever tried to put a Mann's Jelly Worm on a weightless wacky hook. The thought crossed my mind this past weekend when I was fishing at night but I stuck w/ my 4" senko instead and has success.
  16. I don't quite understand how bass see so I was wondering when you are fishin a topwater frog like the spro bronze eye 65 does the bass see the entire frog from underwater (sides and top of the frog, color / detail) depending on its postion, or does it only see the color and shape of the frogs belly. If the bass only sees the color of the belly then why is there always so much detail and color on the rest of the frog (aside from the selling appeal aspect)?
  17. It seems like I am always second guessing myself on line and I need help because I always end up with braid. Currently I am fishing with Dawia Samauri Braid in 30lb (6lb mono equiv) and 55lb test (10lb mono equiv). I am sure that using this braid, or braid in general is not doing some of my lures and justice and is probably making wary fish not bite. I mainly fish worms, both weighted and non weighted, crankbaits, buzz baits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, jigs, and also flip and pitch. I have 1 spinning reel that is an Abu Garcia Soron SX10 and the rest are Abu Garcia Revo-S baitcasters. My spinning rod has 30lb test Dawia Braid and so does my baitcaster that I use for crankbaits. The rest of my baitcasters (5) have the Dawia Braid in 55lb test. How would you set up your reels? For example: (BC) Crankbait reel - (BC) Spinnerbait / Buzz bait reel - Spinning reel for worm and weightless - (BC) Pitchin and Flippin reel - (BC) Jerkbait reel - (BC) Jig reel - (BC) Spare / utility reel - I like to use specific reels for specific techniques that are paired up with rods for that specific technique. What pound test would you use, and what type of line would you use (mono, copolymer, or braid) with the above techniques? Please let me know if there are any other details you may need. Thanks for your help.
  18. I was always under the assumption that the larger diameter line, the deeper a crank bait will run. I recently read an artical that contradicts that theory. The artical said that a mid depth crank (8-14') is best used with 8lb mono. With that same crank but 15lb mono the crank should only dive to a little over 5'. Is this true? I don't use mono, I use Dawia Samauri Braid in 55lb test which has the diameter of 10lb mono. What I thought I have been doing using an equivelant 10lb diameter line was making a 2-5' crank run more like 3-7' Am I getting the max depth + out of my crank, or is my crank running way more shallow than I think?

I am just starting to use some swimbaits and wanted to know from an experienced "swimbaiter" if there are ideal times and conditions that they excell, or can you throw 1 in any condition @ any time with marginal success? I know that any lure @ any given time can catch fish so for all u post happy peeps trying to reach your next "posting level", u need not respond. Not trying to be rude, just tired of simple responses. I know there are tons of really smart anglers on here so if anyone can help me that would be great. Thanks in advance.

  22. With only 2 hours to fish and I rod to use, what hard or plastic lure do you use to ensure catching at least 1 bucketmouth?
  23. I just bought the Bac Rac and won't be able to use it until the end of next month. Does anyone have one they use on their boat, or has anyone ever used one on your boat? If so I would like to get some feedback. Pros, cons, problems, modifications to make it more sturdy, stuff like that.
  24. I just bought some trokar flippin hook and wanted to know how people are rigging beavers. Can you rig them texas style even though the shank is straight, or do you thread the beaver on the hook with the hool exposed.
