  1. If I had no other choice and had to use the rod, I would agree with the close quarter spinnerbaits or maybe a jerkbait.
  2. I personally won't fish with a 2pc. I feel that they are less sensitive than a 1pc.
  3. Jig trailer or a pitchin' bait. When pitchin I use between 3/8 and 3/4 oz TT filppin' weight and usually a TT smart peg. Be careful if you are buying the pegs. You need a #5 for the 3/4 oz and over weights. The #3 only fits up to the 1/2 oz flippin weight. When flippin I let it sink to the bottom and wait several seconds, twitch it and wait several seconds, reel it up and flip it again. You don't need to twitch these things back to you to make them work, but you can if you like. I am trying to get bit on the fall or 1st twitch or I am moving on.
  4. I think you would be ok to use purple in any condition. I would think that slightly stained would work better. I use a black worm all day and all night, shallow and deep, sunny or cloudy. Not to say that is the only color I use, but I catch fish with.
  5. I would think that it would kill the bass b/c it is "harmful or fatal if swallowed". And that's if you human. I don't understand the logic and would not try it.
  6. B4 I came to this website I only shopped at cabelas and bass pro shops. Since I found tackle warehouse on this site, that's the only place I have been ordering from. I had no idea how much I was missing. TW is my new spot.
  7. I use 14lb berkley fireline crystal which has the diameter of 8lb mono. I like knowing if I get snagged I am not loseing a LC lure.
  8. I was talking to an older fisherman and he was asking about the smelly jelly I was using. He then told me that he use to spray WD-40 on his lures for attractant and the bass loved it. I think this guy is pullin my leg, but I guess anything is possible. Any of you guys heard of this?
  9. Southern New Jersey Bluegills, sunnies, craws, shiners, and roach (roach is a local term for the fish, not sure of the proper name).
  10. I have 5 mojo's including the two you mentioned. Thet are both quality rod that I would reccomend.
  11. For me its a baitcaster. I have the st croix mojo bass pitchin rod.
  12. When I don't use a weight I have a hard time judgeing what the bait is doing.
  13. For me, I would say the hardest part is picking the correct lure for that moment that I am fishing. I tend to always go for my "go to" lure instead of trying something that might make better sense and catch more fish.

For those of you who use roboworms, how do you decide on the color? The colors and ways they are colored is strange to me, however I would like to try them. Can anyone reccomend at good color for slightly stained, and clear water?
  15. I do it all the time with St. Croix. I exclusively use them and always get what I am after. If I was going to buy another companies rod I would most likely have to handle it first. I am just comfortable with croix.
  16. Is there an advantage to snelling vs knot. If so can you explain?
  17. I flip with 20 lb braid and have not had any issues. From what I have read, 50 to 65 lb braid is popular amoung the pros, and would have to assume many people follow suit. I would not worry about snapping your rod unless you are trying to unsnag your hook improperly from something. I always point the rod tip at the snag and pull back toward my body like I was pulling back to shoot a pool stick. Never try to unsnag yourself buy using up and down poping motions like you were setting the hook, that will snap your rod. If all else fails, cut the line, the lure is less expensive to replace than the rod.
  18. Is this a new plastic or an old one, I have never seen anything like it.
  19. I also use an Owner hook similar to that one but the top of the cutting point is flat.
  20. Mojo does make a pitchin rod. It is 7'6' and a mighty fine rod, I have one.
  21. Instead of using a jig head to fish wacky style, has anyone used a circle hook and pegged a weight to the hook. Also when fishing wacky style, is there a weight limit that should not be exceeded?
  22. I have never finese fished before and was wondering if it had to be done with a weight that was extreamly light, like from 1/32 - 3/16 oz. I don't feel weights that light very well when I am fishing so its hard for me to tell what the lure is doing. Can you finese fish with heavier weights effectively or does that defeat the porpose of finese fishing?
  23. I am not surprised. Rules are rules, and fair is fair. Wow 77 years of sole possession of the World Record, and now a tie. I wonder how long that tie will last considering murita said he's seen 30 pounders!!
  24. I have been using Berkley Fireline Crystal for years and like it a lot. Prior the finding the Crystal braid i tried everything. my next choice would probably be Spider Wire ultra cast invisibraid.
