Where to begin?
If you don't want to invest a ton of $ I would say a good start would be to buy a couple (2) of lipless crank baits in chrome blur back black back, whatever, (2) lipped crank baits that dive from 0 to 3', (1) bag of gary yamomoto 5" senko's in green pumpkin, (1) all black and (1) all white buzz bait, (1) chart/white spinnerbait, (1) chartruse spinnerbait, (2) 1/2oz. black and blue jigs with matching trailers, (2) 1/2oz green pumpkin/ brown jigs with matching trailers, some 2/0 and 3/0 hooks, some true toungston weights, and a pack of sweet beavers from reaction innovations in corndog color. Good luck and welcome to BR. You will learn a lot here.

Revo owners please respond
I've only fished with the S but have no complaints, I really like it.

abu revo s and all star select combo at Dick's
Its both a good and a bad deal. Price wise its a good deal, buying and item that is not in a box that everyone has messed with and dropped, not to mention probably tightened the drag to the max and left it that way makes it a bad deal. See if they have one in the box so you can take the used on off the rod.

Help please/keep or exchange it.
I would return it and get something better. Your thought process with the mojo rod is right on, I have 5 of them.

cheap reel, what do you choose?
I would get the garcia reel. I have 5 of the revo-s models. Remember, you get what you pay for. The revo-s is 130 at cabelas but you can order it from dicks on-line for 109. If you order it from dick be careful what you choose in terms or right and left hand. The revo-s in left hand is Revo S-L.

best rod for fliping and pitching
St. Croix makes a series called mojo bass. They have great rods that are affordable and technique specific. They have a frog rod, pitchin rod, and a flippin rod. I am not sure about the frog rod but the pitchin rod is 7'6" and the flippin rod is 7'11". I personally have the pitchin rod as well as the jig n worm, crankbait, topwater, and spinnerbait rod. They are great and cost between 100 and 120.

Hope I get use to reeling left handed!
I am right handed and can only use a left handed bait caster. Years ago when I bought my first baitcaster it was right handed and totally uncomfortable. I was never able to adjust. Thank goodness for the left handed caster. I wish companies would make all their models in a left handed version b/c it does limit your choices. I exclusively use Abu Garcia Revolution S baitcasters in left handed, they are great.

Help Me Spend Some Money!
Jig trailers - paca and sweet beavers are excellent.

Help Me Spend Some Money!
A great shallow crank bait - sebile makes one that dives 1 to 2 feet and you can never go wrong with a mann's baby wake bait that dives 1 to 3 inches.

Kinami vs. Yamamoto
Let me rephrase that, probably out of the same molds with little variation.

Kinami vs. Yamamoto
Kinami is owned by yamamoto's son. All the products from both brands are out of the same molds.

A question for non-boater tourney anglers.
I myself am a non-boater tourney angler and I am always asking myself before every tourney how many rods is too many to bring. I usually end up bringing 5 or 6. There is never a good place to store them b/c I am fishing from the back of the boat so they end up next to my boat seat sometimes tangled together. Does this happen to you? How many rods do you bring? Thanks.

Rods and reels.. How many do you take with you when fishing from the bank?
I have 6 rods and reels that I can use. They are all bait specific. 1 for cranks, spinner baits, worms, jigs, buzz, and pitchin/flippin. I don't have a boat so I fish from the banks which I don't mind. I hate lugging all 6 rods with me even though I have a tote-em-pole rod holder. I don't like to leave my expensive gear unmaned so I usually walk maybe 20 yards or so infront of me put my gear down then back track the 20 yards so me gear is always in my sight in front of me. When I am out fishing it is usually for the entire day and it becomes a pain in the butt moving my gear all around. I am not lazy, I have a pair of knees and a back that bother me but will never stop me from fishing. I prefer to fish several different styles of bait and don't want to be committed to only 1 rod all day. As I said, all my rods have a specific purpose. I could not put a crank bait on my flippin stick if you know what I mean. I have a waist pack that fits all the gear I need so it is not a factor to have a tackle box to carry as well. Do any of you other bank anglers have a solution that I am over looking?
