BPS 2010 catalog?

Featured Replies

The new catalog is a bit dissapointing. It does not contain much new tackle and the lure section seems like it is getting smaller. It feels like they are expanding clothing and other items. Anyone else notice?

Didn't notice much difference but I didn't layout the old and new catalog to compare. I mostly look for new stuff, new models, etc, or just browse to let the bait monkey get some ideas - then go to the BPS web site, or directly to the manufacturer's web site to check out the item.

Anyway, the price is right for the catalog - free !

They send one to my house and one to the office. Helps me get through bouts of cabin fever.

I didn't notice any difference in the content.

i didnt notice anything differnece ;)

I thought the rod section was less than last year.

I also agree that the catalog has changed although they are using some of the same layouts from last year.

But just the same, it is fun to walk through each page and see what they have to offer.  ;)

I peruse mine in the only room in the house where I can have some privacy  ;D.  I didn't see any difference but then i don't have the old one to compare it to. My wife tossed out last years catalog.  >;)  (Can I divorce her for that?) I told her not to even touch this one.

As a founding member of the BPS posse I have still not received my copy. I spent an obscene amount of money there last year. Where is my copy? I want my copy!

OK. I feel better now. ;D I still want my copy.

Yikes - you've got to be hurting!  An idea, go onto the BPS web site and put in for a free catalog .... then you'll end up with two - one for the WC and one for someplace else ...

I noticed that selections are down in name brands, while BPS is showcasing their products, esp in rods/reels.  Still not a bad catalog.  If you want to see a catalog that really shrunk down, check out last year's Cabela's fishing catalog.  It was pitifully small.

i noticed more i thought. got a few new lures and colors

Just another result of a tough economy.  It's " safe. "  You guys don't remember the days when the whole BPS catalog was about 30 pages. Those were days.

They assure me my copy is on the way. I think I may have just a mild case of cabin fever. :;)

Well - I put in my BPS order yesterday. Another Extreme BC rod and a bunch of baits. Will be waiting for the Carbonlite BC reel and the PQ BC reel in 5.2 to go on sale before grabbing those. No hurry, since my local lakes just froze-over the last two days and no fishing for me for a while... ;) Too cold here for TN...

As did mine. I didn't notice until the drive home this afternoon.

I just ordered my catalog a few days ago, so it better get here soon.

I put my catalog order in a while ago, and I ordered somestuff on the 27th of dec, and still haven't got it yet.

I thought the catalogue looked great, especially the section showing the pictures of the side imaging senarios .

I haven't really noticed that much difference between this years and last years. And while I do like browsing thru their catalog, I got a huge Bass pro shop store within a few miles. I just wish it carried more fishing stuff than all the clothes, etc..

So you placed an order on 12/27 (wouldn't be processed until 12/28)?  Did you forget the holiday last week?  Did you play for upgraded shipping?

If not, don't expect to receive anything for another 3-4 business days.

I noticed the lures were a bit less this year.  Rapala section normally would have more pages, this year it's much less.  No Husky Jerks listed at all, or subwalks and skitterpops.  Did notice the new Flat Rap though.

Sales are down I'm sure and manufacturers are not innovating. I'm buying more hand-crafted type baits that are unique from "Mom and Pop" lure company's. Still like getting my catalog though.

Don't worry fella's , they'll send out another updated master catalog in a couple month's. Then 7 or 8 more after that.

I felt last years catalog was more clothes and nic nacs than fishing stuff.  This years seems just the same.   I went to BPS today and the shelves were just about empty.   2 isles were completely devoid of rods.   It was hard to spend the gift cards I got for xmas.   But there were isle after isle of under armor clothes for stick people and tommy bahama clothes you'd never fish in.

Not to mention the half dozen "spring anglers" or the 3-4  "summer anglers" and then all the "marine" ones, and the "red head" and the "northern angler" and a sales flyer every other day. I am converting my furnace over to burn BPS catalogs.......I have enough for a few winters.

There were a few significant changes in this years catalog.  The Nitro boat prices have been slashed!  The Johnny Morris gold reel now sells for $169 and the Johnny Morris signature reel is $119 down from $179!  They don't sell the Johnny Morris elite baitcaster anymore.  These caught my attention right off the bat!
