I Need Help Identifying A Few Lures

Featured Replies

I am creating a database of lures and I have a few personal lures and I can't remember who made them. Please look at the pictures if you have time and if you know who made them, please let me know.

Thanks,

JIM

Left: Look like Poe's, but I bet they are home-made.

Right: Dunno. Recent Matzuo's?

I agree with Paul.  The bottom ones look like some Matzuo lures I gave away.

I have to agree on the Matzuos. I have no idea where I got them though. I've neve fished them at all. They look nice though. Anyone ever fished them?

Thanks so much for the help. I hope someone recognizes the other lures. I believe they are from the 90's or early 2000s. They are light so I think they may be balsa. And the coffin bill is something I don't see much of these days.

Would those be Bandits in the first pic? I got some in a trade and they look like that.

If they are, I can't find any pictures anywhere. I know I bought them for a reason but it was a while back.

Matzuo makes some decent stuff, and some crap.  I can't remember what these lures were called.  But they were decent.  Nice hooks, good detail, decent actions.  I don't think I ever caught anything on them, but never fished them much.  I didn't give them away because they were bad or anything.  I just sometimes give away some of my superfluous stuff.

I may give them a go just to see what they will do. I wish I could remember where I got them. One is a shallow diver, maybe down to 4 feet and the other looks like it might make it to 8. There is a round indention on the lips of both. I wonder what that is there for?

Cool. You wouldn't happen to remember who made these would you?

I looked up the TN Killer and I'm not sure they are the same. The TN Killer eyes look more like Bagley baits. They are painted on top. These baits have eyes on the side.

They are very similar, though.

On the ones I got it looks like cheap paper eyes glued on partially sticking up on top. I got the same color as the on on top. I'm sure the package said Tennessee killer. I could be wrong.

you probably got those matzuo baits at sports authority. thats the only place i ever see them.

they have a topwater bait like a sammy that i kill speckled seatrout on in the summer. and it was like a dollar.

I've never been to a sports authority but I might have found them at Academy. They have some odds and ends sometimes.

About the TN Killers, I'm just not sure because of the eyes. I jsut wish I could remember.

I would also agree the bottom 2 are Matzuo's. They are sold across the country at many stores. I see them at Dick's and Gander Mtn. around here, they go for about $3, and really, for the money are not bad lures. They come with good hooks which is rare for a cheap bait. I have a few that are shallow Baby 1- type cranks, they run true and catch fish. In fact I have one I hope I never lose, it's a neat bluegill pattern that I have not seen on any other lure and it flat out works for me.

I have them exact 2 lures I bought off e-bay still in the packages. They have stick-on eyes on the side just like yours. They are made by Norman Lures.

Not the greatest quality, but they will catch fish.

Are they rare? $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

No.....I've sold real, vintage TN Killer's on eBay and never got squat for them.
