What To Use When The Temps Are Over 90 Degrees

Featured Replies

as most of the country is in a severe drought and when the temps get 90 degrees and above it is hard to catch bass or crappie or even walleye , What do you reccomend us to use. (The temps get hot the fish turn off ) and how soon will it take for the fish to get active again when the drought ends

I would use weightless senko's rigged wacky. I would think the fish would be activated every quickly, but I dont know about that.

How deep are you fishing? What kind of lake? Grass, pads or not?

On the deep impoundments I fish, I've turned to the dropshot in this hot weather. Fishing about 20' deep. No weeds at all.

Here its in the 90's 10 months of the year. Finesse fishing and night fishing all the way. No south Fl. waters are deeper than 10ft. and the key to finding even slightly active bass is moving water and shade.

Man i need to know what works in this heat because absolutely nothing has been working for me. I have even tried using live shiners and they die because the water is so hot.

When it gets hot I fish deep points and creek channels or pads/slop. Big slow moing baits seem to be te key deep, I guess fish look at it as a big easy to get meal and for slop and pads frogs and punch rigs a lot still sticking with bigger baits.

I use Prayer, still doesn't help.

I'm still laughing....
