hey guys im needing some help. i fish a pond close to my house and it has alot of vegatation such as weeds submerged, the weeds stretch maybe 6 feet from the bank then there is a drop off into deep water. i kno big bass stay around that vegetation because of bait fish. ive been using a fluke and scum frog but i wanna try other baits and im not sure what to use.... any suggestions???

Throw a Crank bait that runs to a depth close to the top of the weeds and make the bait tick the top of the grass. If the crank bait goes into the grass rip it out. Both these techniques will drive some bass crazy.

Texas rigging a senko would probably due well. You can work it multiple ways through the vegetation without worrying about any hang ups. Fry's suggestion would work as well.

Like others said texas rigged worm. Just to put this out there, you could use a weedless jig.

1. Unweighted white or pink trick worm pulled along the surface.

2. Buzzbait

3. Wake crankbait

4. As said above, Texas rigged finesse worm. Suggest green pumpkin with black flake. Peg a bullet weight in front of worm. You can go to a longer worm if you think it will be producitve.

Cast out as far as you can and bring the baits to and over the grass. Throw in various directions.

If you can throw a long ways, try a shaky head, too.

Good luck.

Since the heat I have been tossing shaky heads with a lot of luck, I guess the bass where I fish are looking for something smaller and with more action.

I would try in these orders.

trimmed down swim jig, hopped or pulled through the grass, choice due to head style.

shaky(round) head with zoom shaky worm, green or brown w/ or w/o flake

shallow crank, or lipless fished over/around the area.
