Talk with your boater before the tournament, each boater has their own way of doing things. Find out what number of rods are okay, whether he nets all fish or calls for the net, type of fishing he plans to do so your prepared properly, don't take food or drinks which would stain, use lure wraps to keep from getting hooks in the seats.

Keep in mind you are on the back of someone's else property they value greatly, respect their rules and property.

Oh, and one other thing. The boater is not your guide for the day, he needs to fish to win his tourney. A co-angler needs to learn to adjust, some co-anglers seem to forget that periodically.

Btw, yes I am a co-angler.

As a co-angler I conduct myself as an apreciative guest and would hope and expect the boat owner to be a hospitable host. It boils down to communication and MUTUAL respect. If either is lacking it can be a long day. Some guys like a level of conversation others just concentrate and don't want to be bothered. You can feel them out and guage where they are at and adjust accordingly.

Thanks Lund, yeah I should have just left it as "don't take anything which could stain"
