So recently I've seen a few threads that have had peoples gear getting ready for the season. Today was ridiculously windy, so I had a chance to go through all of my junk.

Baitcasters are BPS PQ's - 6.4:1 and 4.7:1

Spinning are BPS PQ's - 4.8:1

Looks great. Looks like you have enough soft plastics to stay out awhile. How long do your bank fishing excursions usually last???

I normally stay about 5 or 6 hours.

Is that a Flambeau AZ3 tackle bag? If it is, I have the exact same one. Neat idea with the extra boxes on top BTW.

Depends on the weather usually.  It gets freakin hot down here sometimes.  But I try to stay out for a minimum of 4 hours, sometimes double that if the fishing is good.

Yeah it is the Flambeau. I had a Plano bag before that one. This one just seems to be built a lot better. Much better zippers and a thicker material that the bag is made out of. Plus it holds more stuff than I can ever usually use on a single outing from a boat or on the banks. The only thing I haven't found a spot for are those Mann's 12" Jelly Worms that I picked up earlier today...

Man I am jealous, if I was to organize my stuff outside today it would have frozen stiff, actually pretty nice day here it was 25

All I can tell you is to......MOVE.  25 is way too freakin cold.  Forget that noise.

nice set up. im a bank beater myself..... the only thing i dont like about ur setup is the tackle bag, myself, i prefer to keep super mobile. so everything i take gets organized into a really sturdy adidas backpack.    But i hear u, 5-6 hours is perfect, pack a snack & make it 8 hours.   I love how organized u r with the bait bags....... i never thought of organizing them like that, mine r all loose in certian compartments, but the bag getting turned up and then sideways makes a mess!    im gunna look into reorganizing that way!

Great tackle choices man.  When your gear is at least 75% soft plastics, and you know how to use them, you will catch more fish than anyone on the lake.

how do u wrangle all 4 rods?    i have a rod carrier that holds 4 of them, but i found it too akward on the go on the lake shore, esp. when u consider i fish from some pretty tight spots.......    i usually bring two rods with me. ones always my heavy duty baitcaster on the 7' with braid, the others either a baitcaster on a 6' or 6'6" rod with mono.  Or a 6'6" spinner with floro.

but im just wondering how u manage all 4 rods on the move, or if u stay put alot?!

I'll bring 4, sometimes 5 with me in the car.  I don't carry all of them around.  Usually only two depending on the area I'm in or the baits I'm fishing.  Occasionally three, but thats fairly rare.

As much as I like my bag, sometimes picking it up and hoisting it over my shoulders can be a chore.  But it's nothing that really bothers me (ex-army I'm used to humping a ton of junk).  I'm looking into picking up one of the tackle backpacks that I've seen online.  I need to take a look at one in person to see if I really want to drop the coinage on one.

I had the same thought regarding the backpack, but I want to see them in person as well. I do a lot of walking, and currently carry 2-5 rods depending on where I am going to fish. I think the backpack may make it easier, but I want to see how they are put together.

I have a backpack that was meant for surfers, i.e. to carry a full wetsuit..ect..has a ton of room. more so than the ones made for fishing. The downside is...that sucker gets Heavy walking a long shoreline..lol

Consider yourself lucky, and I mean this. I wish I could do the same, but leaving rods in the car in my neck of the woods is just asking a thief to bust open the car window to steal them.

I take anywhere from 1-4 rods and they all come with me, but I devised an apparatus that can 3 of them nicely and the apparatus even keeps them off of the ground.

1 rod with no more than 4 extra lures ( in lure boxes in my pocket)may have a pack of flukes with a couple of hooks in the bag stuck in my back pocket, feel like I'm ready for anything.  I'm in constant motion, walking and casting.

The lakes I fish are no water contact lakes so I'm always on the bank.  I tend to bring two or three rods:

1 6'6" ML XF spinning (senko, dropshot)

1 7" M M glass baitcaster (cranks, jerk, topwater)

1 7" MH/H F baitcaster (jigs, punching)

My backpack probably weighs about 20+ lbs with all the tackle, food, water (and sometimes extra clothes) I bring.  Depending on the time of year I could probably eliminate 5-10lbs without missing much, but I always want to be ready for anything.

For rod storage I've sewn a sew-on velcro strap from the craft store onto the side of my pack very close to the top, and with the butts of the rods sitting in a side pouch on the same side of the pack, they stay very secure when I'm hiking/biking.

i carry two of my three rods when im fishing the banks. if im out for a while though , ill take them all.

6'6" L/F spinning rig for lighter cranks and drop shot.

6' M/F casting rig for cranks , t-rigs , shaky heads , jigs and spinner baits.

6'6" MH/F casting rig for heavier t-rigs , jigs and spinnerbaits.

im usually out with my dickies backpack. i may throw some food or drink or extra clothes depending on weather. instead of carrying a pack of 20 plastics when i may use 3 that day , i will take 3-5 of each and put them in separate ziplock bags. i do the same with hooks and weights - instead of the 25 count pack , ill put 5 or so in the double sided plano.

but im starting to think im carrying too much since most of the time im by myself. so im starting to only bring what i will throw that day instead of what i might throw. everything fits in my pockets. the only thing is that the box rattles if im walking with it in my pocket which isnt a big deal to me.

I take all of my soft plastics in their original bags and put them in a big ziploc freezer bag and take my boxes with hooks and sinkers and hard baits and put all that in a backpack. Then I break down my spinning rod and put that in the backpack so i only have to carry my baitcaster.  Then I hop on my bike and its time to go fishing!

Thats a nice assortment of soft plastics  , you better hide about 3/4 of that from the Mrs., that way you can always say you don't have enough ;D. When bank beating I take 2 rod & reels and a downsized tacklebox. I'm looking for a real small box that would be even easier to carry, or put in the pocket of my waders.

My plano 737 is too much to haul around.

Thankfully I'm single, no wifey to bug me about fishing.  My daughters on the other hand have started to like fishing and are stealing a bunch of my plastics to stick in their boxes...

So I picked up a new rod today for worming...

I just need to get used to the XF tip on it. I missed three fairly decent fish today setting the hook too quickly.

I carry two rods one spinning rod and one baitcaster

Then I bought this not too long ago, I love it!
