Looking forward to seeing how the event on Lake Shelbyville turns out as I have fished a couple of events there and there was just a BFL there over the weekend and fishing was reported as "tough" by the winning boater.

When i heard the 2 illinois lakes i was dumbfounded. Shelbyville is a good fishery, im definately interested to see how they pick it apart. But i could not believe they picked Lake Decatur. We call it "the big mud puddle." Still going to be interested on how the pros fish it. I have fished shelbyville a lot, and cant wait to see KVD fish my favorite illinois lake.

That's what I'm looking forward to as well as I really like Shelbyville but it has fished very tough each time I have gone there for an event. Sure they will expose some things and that will give me a better experience next season on the lake.

The changing weather and temp drops with the cold front should make it very interesting for this weekends events.

It must be really tough down there if there was only 1 limit caught by the best of the best. I have never fished Shelbyville but have heard lots of great things about it.

I've been keeping track and reading the "Live Blog" and following the leader board and they have caught more other species that keeper bass it seems.

Me too. Been listening in on the War Room too when I can.

sounds like none of the fisherman have anything good to say about Shelbyville. Evers shouldnt have anything negative to say, hes hammering them. Ike got a 50+ inch muskie too, thats awesome.

It does sound like tough fishing.

But I actually really enjoy it when these anglers come up against these situations.

I enjoy the big bass and big bags but rather than watching them fish bass that are chewing the paint off every bait in the box and smashing 25 - 30 pound bags everyday - this provides us with a chance to see what the best of the best do on a tough bite.

Exactly. They have the best equipment and knowledge and they are fishing a tough fishery that is extremely low. I wish they had more tourneys like this. I hope ESPN airs Ike catching that muskie. That had to be a site.

I hope they air the whole weekend as well but a tough time at Shelbyville usually doesn't make it to TV. The grind it out type of tourney is really interesting to me as well and shows that even the guys at the top of the sport have those days they wish they could take back as well.
