Do you get most of your crankbaits in one series, or a lot of different models and types from multiple brands??

My dilemma with multiple brands is that I want to start collecting all the same colors and types in each brand when I get them. I don't like to waste money buying one brand's square bill in a certain color and then repeating it in another brand's square bill again, though, unless it had a different wiggle or something. So far I've been buying Bandit baits for most crankbait needs, with the occasional Bomber or Rapala. Would I be ok just sticking with Bandit for about all of them or are there some special ones out there that most would agree that we all should have one of, or do I just need to repeat types and colors from one brand to the next??

I like to mix it up when it comes to baits. Some are more bouyant than others which makes them shine when fishing wood. Others are almost neutral and will rise slowly when paused or banged into cover. This style is great when fishing for suspended fish or those hanging around depth changes.

I stick with just a few colors for the majority of my cranks. Color is the last thing I look at when deciding what bait I should be throwing.

I look at color based on water clarity and light penetration but I like a variety of colors. Each has it's own unique look in the water. Citrus shad appears to almost glow on foggy mornings. Love it.

I don't have lost of colors of baits but I have lots of different brands. Even baits that look the same are going to move or sound differently. It may take awhile to figure out what the differences are but they are there. You get three baits like a LC RC 1.5, H20 squarebill, and Xcaliber 100. They look almost identical but they all have their own quirks. The H20 is the loudest and has a wider wobble, the Xcaliber floats fastest, and the RC has a tighter wiggle and a quieter rattle. I worry more about these variables than I do color, especially in the stained water I'm normally fishing.

There are so many good brands of crankbaits that it can be hard to decide what to buy. I've whittled my crank selection down to two 3600 boxes and don't have more than two colors of a given lure. I do have a hodgepodge of brands that includes with and without rattles, narrow wobbling and wide wobbling and depths that cover super shallow to about 15'.
