does anyone know a good hook for texas rigged tubes i saw the trokar ones but they are so expensive i do like the extremely ewg on it because regular ewg arent to great and i need something that rigs a little better and has a better presentation

I use a 3/0 EWG hook for most of my tube fishing.

 

I'm not sure if this helps you, but this is a 3/0 Gammy G-Lock EWG:

I typically use 4/0 EWG Gammy's for my Mizmo Bad Boy, Dry Creek Big Dog and BPS Magnum Flippin tubes. I haven't rigged mine with a bullet weight in a few years now after switching to the Yamamoto Snagfree Tube weights. I have no issues with hook ups using this rig.

Could you explain this in more detail? I don't understand the swivel?

The swivel keeps the tube from sliding down the hook.

Sorry for the "wild goose chase"! I should have mentioned that's where I buy mine.

Slide the weight up inside the tube to the top of the bait, leaving a slight gap between to the top of the tube and the weight. Then simply start you t-rig through the tube. The only difference is you put the hook through the hole in the weight to keep it from falling out. Let me know if this makes sense.

I've found that when I fish this set up in the river, I hang up a lot less often.

There are two hooks that I like when T-rigging. One is the HP hook that Shaw Grigsby developed. It has a small clip at the line tie that holds the tube. the other is the Skip Gap by Gamakatsu.

I personally prefer my weight inside the tube as that doesn't restrict the natural fall of the tube as much as when it's T-rigged and a tube jig is my prefered rigging.

I like the weight inside and in the middle also. I use Mustad weighted hooks, but if I find myself without I will press a few split shots on the hook and hide em in the tube.
