Allen Gator Tail Worms

Featured Replies

I found a few bags of these, going threw my buddy's

old tackle box. What's the best way to rig them; tail

pointing up or down?

Thanks

BB :)

theoretically, tail down to disturb the bottom (read that in an article long ago)...when I flipped them it didn't matter

Tail down on the Gator tails.

Agreed, tail-down

Does anyone remember the "Ditto" Gator Tail?

In the 80s, the Ditto gator tail and Stanley Jig vied for top spot.

Yes. I still have a few.

Allen bought out Ditto. Allen also had a crankbait line IIRC. I've caught a lot of fish on the Gator tails when I'd fish them in the day. Ditto made a Pumpkin/Chart laminate worm with Chart. Glitter that was just a killer on LOZ here in Missouri.

BTW, Zoom's G-tail worm is pretty close to the Gator tail in both appearance and action.
