Favorite vibrating jig/ chatter type lure

Featured Replies

Of the ones I've tried so far I like the Booyah version, I'll admit it's something I haven't used a lot though I did well on a couple of outings last year with the small 1/8 oz version with a Zoom Super Fluke junior as a trailer. I'm also curious as to your favorite size and trailer if you use one and what situations you like to throw it in. Thanks

I've tried three and use mostly the Gambler Swim Blade. The Chatterbait doesn't seem to be a lure with quality components and lacks a barb to hold a trailer.

As to the Booyah, I lost confidence in the flexible hook. If it had a rigid hook it would be my lure of choice.

The Gambler is pretty good but needs to be worked slower because it has a lot of lift and can pop out of the water if retrieved too fast. It seems to have a wilder, more erratic action that the other two.

But I've never been able to detect a difference among the three in their ability to draw strikes.

I use a standard spinnerbait trailer and use it mostly in shallow, weedy water. I also use trailer hooks.

I believe that chatter baits have a time and place

The time is never, you can decide the place ;)

The place was Toledo Bend this weekend. Boated limits each day in very tough conditions(middle of a front in freezing rain) finished 92nd out of 605 teams. Every fish caught on an original z man 1/2 ounce chatterbait. Im a believer now.

Strike King Pure Posion.  The color I use is white with red streaks (not sure of the "official name").

There you see, never say a lure is crap and that goes for helicopter lures to banjo minnows.

As soon as you condemn a lure someone will get on right behind you and prove you wrong

So it goes in bass'in land ;)

keep fishing my friends

X 2...they work for me... ;)

I use a 4 yr old chatterbait thats got no finish on it anymore! I replaced the cheap snap lock fastner doodad with one alot bigger. I usually fish it with a white/ gold mixed skirt and a spinnerbait trailer. I hop it slowly and even caught my profile pic bass with it, so it's even become somewhat of a confidence bait for me now. One of my buddys laughed at it, NOW HE OWNS SOME TOO!

I bought some Stanley versions at GM, boasting a 40# line tie I thought they would be great, WRONG! Not one fish :-?
