I have 3/4 of a 6 gallon tank of fuel mixture for my outboard left. I doubt I'll be using the motor again until the spring. The mixture was treated with Seafoam. I also have a bottle of StarTron and Stabil sitting around.

Anyone see a downside to adding a little of one or both to the fuel while I store it for the winter? I realize it probably won't help much, but can it hurt?

I don't think my car's fuel injectors would like the 50:1 mix.

When added to the fuel already in the car. The car won't know the difference. Or use it in the lawn equipment.

Seafoam is a fuel stabilizer in addition to an engine treatment so you're good with just that. There is also no problem with having both Seafoam and Stabil or Starton in the tank at the same time. A lot of guys are using a "cocktail" of Seafoam, Stabil and Quickleen.

I second the use it in lawn equipment idea or give it to a neighbor that can use it. It's only 4 gallons, why keep it all winter and risk using bad gas in your outboard next spring?

I have one of the old style metal tanks and I like to keep it full over the winter to help keep the inside from rusting, so at years end I will fill it up and treat it with Sta-bil. In the spring I will pour it into the fuel tank on my truck. To top off the tank for the winter I don't worry about the mixture or oil. I do however tag it to remind me that it's not suitable for use with the outboard.

During the boating season I use both seafoam & stabil, might be over kill but it doesn't hurt.
