Does anybody here fish the G Loomis GL2? If so, how do you like them?

Yup I have the GL2 803CJWR paired with a Chronarch e7 spooled up with 12# P-Line CXX. I like the shorter length what dealing with close targets like dock pilings and laydowns. Nice and light, plenty sensitive, and enough beef to get fish out of cover.

Stuck this winning lunker with it, tossing a jig into a laydown next to a dock:

How do you like that 12 lb? Not worried about break offs? I break off 15 lb tatsu when I'm flipping a jig into light cover. Maybe I need to set my drag loose..

I like the gl2, with JF thumbs up I bought a GL2 893C JWR

12# CXX ha a breaking strength of like 18 lbs. Drag is usually set for around 5-6#.

What I was hoping to hear. Little late to be asking, I bought one yesterday, Stopped by my local lake to fish a while from the bank.

Like the way it feels. I got the GL2 803CJWR.

Real nice fish Francho. Now if I can just do that.

Yes, I know I just made a post about having to much tackle,...... what can I say?

It's funny, because I had no real need for the rod - already have two similarly spec'd Avids. But, the handle felt really good with a Chronarch in my hands, so.....

Which GL2, the old GL2 or the new GL2 ?

I have several old GL2s and I like them very much ( now relegated to perform the less glamorous tasks like spinnerbaiting or cranking ), as for the new GL2s, man at 200 bones a pop I´d rather invest a little bit more and get an IMX.
