Tilapia patterened baits

Featured Replies

We are heading to Falcon next year. We are looking for tilapia colored/patterened baits.

I looked at BPS lastweekend, and only found a rat-l-trap HD in that color.

Am I right in thinking that a BPS in PA may not carry a tilapia patterened bait that a BPS in Texas may have?

Are you asking for hardbaits? A tilapia colored hardbait

is not necessary on Falcon. A sexy shad or close colored crankbait is fine. I have some Tilapia cranks, but I just do not think you need to spend that amount of money on crankbaits for Falcon.

Tillapias exhibit numerous color patterns starting from very dark grey almost black going through lighter gray, blue, bright orange all the way down to pure white, so basically if what you want is to imitate the color pattern you can look in your tackle box for those colors.

Academys H20 house brand has a few baits in Tilapia color. I own one of the lipless cranks in that particular color. You may want to look into those.

I fished the H20 talapia in a lake that has NO talapia, and caught fish...get the 4" model..great little swimbait for the $$$ imho.

excaliber xr-s make a pattern they call tilapia... i dont call them tilapia i call them nile perch

I fish a lake in central Florida that has a large Tilapia population and a Smokey Joe Rat-l-trap is my goto lure.

Same color on a Norman DD22 does well in Mexico.

Academy just released these crankbaits and a few other models of baits in this tilapia color. They look pretty good.

The new Bill Lewis High Def Rat L Trap in the Natural Tilapia pattern is as close as I have seen for Falcon.
