Favorite Flipping Baits?

Featured Replies

Appears to be a Gamakatsu superline EWG with a punch skirt and bullet weight

beaver style bait or a lakefork rig fry

Usually what ever I have In My hand at the time :) a jig works just as good as anything else IMO. I would like to start trying beaver style baits though

Has anyone tried using the Yamamoto Fat Ika for flipping? I've heard great things. I'd love to hear more input

I use them quite regulary.

While any bait can be flipped, if I'm on a stricktly flipping bite, my bait of choice, is the Rage Hawg. A close second would be a Space Monkey. Braid and heavy action rod are a must.

Space Monkey

Sweet Beaver

Rage Hawg

D-Bomb

Ugly Otter

BB cricket

Pit boss

Why Not

For penetrating heavy, matted milfoil with coontail below, I like a RI Sweet Beaver, Rage Craw, or a jig with a Rage Chunk - skewered, not threaded. For hitting open pockets, Gambler's Ugly Otter or Rage Recon Worm glide nicely. In all cases I lube these baits with Megastrike, which helps them come through the weeds cleaner. On stained, or during algea blooms, JJ's Magic chartreuse is the ticket for setting your bait apart.

Sweet beavers, Wooly bullies, ugly otters

Jackall Sasuteki Craw

Damiki Air Craw

Tabu Open Water Jig (light cover only the hook has a medium to medium light wire)

Tube

Rage Craw

Arky Jig (with a stout hook for thick cover)

In no certain order.

1) BBB Fightin Frog

2) Lake Fork Craw Tube

3) NorthStar KnockOut or Black Series Jigs
