  1. Right on I'll try that. Thanks for the advise.
  2. What do you guys do to clean the hook eye after powder coating?
  3. 1. Rage Craw 2. Ole Monster 3. Roboworm 6" ST 4. Roboworm 6" Fat ST 5. Jackall Sasuteki Craw I really wish Strike King would make a double tail rage grub! I think that would be sick.
  4. I like to hit the bank around cover in the mornings. When the sun gets high I usually target shade. I'll use a frog in spots I can't get away with treble hook topwaters. Frogs also work great on banks with tree lines. Another really good time for a topwater is when you see bass busting on shad. This usually happens on flats or right where the flat drops to deeper water. I've caught bass in 40ft of water busting on top.
  5. I ended up buying the Trokar arky head mold. If anything it will hit on the two main reason I'm getting it pitching and skipping. Guess if it doesn't work out for the other things I'll have to buy more molds... Thanks for letting me know the in's and outs. When the mold comes in and I get a chance I'll post a couple pictures of the finished product.
  6. The trokar arky was actually the one I was most interested in. As for the chatterbaits I was going to attach a split ring to the hook eye then attach the blade to the split ring. I've seen some people do it that way does bit not work?
  7. Pitching banks (sparse grass being the main form of cover with a downed tree mixed in everynow and then) and dock skipping are the two main things I want this jig to do. Thats why I think an arky head would be best suited for this. If the mold I choose could also pull off being a chatterbait and swim jig it would be an added bonus.
  8. I am looking for a mold I can use in more ways then one. Right now I'm torn between the banana head, arky 60 degree hook model, and the Trokar arky mold. The hooks I want to use are the Owner 5304 and 5317. Any advise would be appreciated. The 3 main weights I'd like the mold to have are 1/4, 3/8, 1/2.
  9. Pop Max
  10. You really don't know till you are out on the water and go through a process of elimination. I was out on a lake the other day water temps were in the 39-42 degree range. I was throwing a 1/2oz Ima RocknVibe lipless crank. Started out slow rolling, that wasn't happenin. Then I started burning it with hard quick pops like you would do fishing over big grass beds. Caught two pretty much right away. So like I said earlier don't count anything out. If you aren't getting bites the way you're working the bait, try switching it up till you find something that does.

  16. swimbaits. I just haven't gave it enough time yet. Gaining more confidence in swimbaits is one of my goals for this coming season.
  17. Jackall Sasuteki Craw Damiki Air Craw Tabu Open Water Jig (light cover only the hook has a medium to medium light wire) Tube Rage Craw Arky Jig (with a stout hook for thick cover) In no certain order.
  18. Jigs are my favorite. But I'll use whatever bait I think best fits what I'm trying to do.
  19. What size split ring are you using on your chatterbaits?
  20. When you use a hotel swimming pool to see what your baits look like under water.
  21. I can't think of anything. If I give a bait enough time I'll start catching fish on it. I use to tear it up with chartreuse colored banjo minnows when I was younger.
  22. I like a MH or H,depends on the weight of the jig, 7' or longer, with a 7:1 reel. For football jigs I like 14lb fluoro. I'll go higher depending on the cover. Pitching and flipping heavy cover I'll go with braid at least 50lb.
  23. I don't say it but it seems like pros say everything is "the deal".
  24. 6" Roboworm Straight Tail. Caught fish every different way I've rigged it.
