If I buy soft plastics, will storing them in a plano box ruin their "flavor"? If yes, where should I store them?

No not really. The only thing is if your going to do it this way is DO NOT MIX in the elastic baits such as Z-Man, Strike King 3x, Terminator Snapback, ect with regular plastic made baits. If you do they will melt both baits and create a mess. I still prefer keeping them in orginal bags and storing those bags in a clear plastic shoe box you can pick up at Walmart for $1-2.

Keep them in their original package as long as possible.

If you want to place them in a Plano box keep each manufacturers' products together and as The Next KVD says, do not mix brands together.

If possible, keep colors together, too.

The original bags they come in is the easiest way to store soft plastics besides a binder..

Where do you then store the plastic bags?

The easiest method is like was said before - for the home or garage, an old shoe box works beautifully and is usually easy to find. When you are heading out on the water, there are several options to consider....

1. A simple gallon ziploc freezer bag works beautifully. Use multiple bags to keep like plastics together either by color, size, brand ,etc.

2. Another way that I use quite frequently is an old soft-sided lunch box - it will hold 8-10 packs easily and takes up amost no space.

3. The third solution to avoid punctures is a small sealable plastic container from Rubbermaid, Glad, etc.

Sure you can spend the money on something like the Browning Plastics satchels sold at BPS or other varieties but really you probably have something at home already sitting there that you could use.
