Get some 1/0, 2/0, and lots of 3/0, and some 4/0 Gamakatsu Extra Wide Gap worm hooks.  That would be a pretty basic set of hooks for various sizes of soft plastics.  The size of the hook needed for a plastic can be easily judged.  Just make sure there is enough space for the hook to be pressed through the bait on a hook-set (for a weedless rig).  I use a 3/0 hook for a 5" Stickworm- I like Yum Dingers.  3/0 EWG also for Superflukes, and Sweet Beavers.  If you want to drop shot, #1, or 2 octopus hooks are good for that, or for weedless drop shotting, a 2/0 Gamakatsu G-Lock Worm hook is perfect for a 3" stickworm rigged weedless.  Another rig I use a lot is a 5" craw texas rigged on a 4/0 wide gap(narrower than an EWG) worm hook.  This is a nice narrow package, good for heavy cover.

RT gives very good advice. You can add more as you go.

Buy Gamys if you want to hook some of the fish that bite.  Buy Owner if you want to hook all the fish the fish that bite.

Hook Point will roll on Gamys.  Will not on Owners.  Some people complain about the difference in price.  I would hate to miss the fish of a lifetime because of a dull hook.

Owners are the way to go. I prefer the offset straight shank hooks in 1/0 - 5/0 depending on the size and thickness of the chosen plastic.

Just about every soft plastic i use gets a 4/0 Gamakatsu hook. Sizes 3/0-5/0 should be enough for most applications.

The difference between Owners and Gammy's has been argued about for a long while.  Both of them are great hook companies.  One has a conical point, one has the hypodermic cutting point.  I've got both brands in my box.

Or, you can take ten seconds to sharpen that hook with a diamond file.  The first time you pop a hook on a rock, you ought to sharpen it anyhow, be it Owner, VMC, Gamakatsu, Trokar, or otherwise.

i use gamakatsu EWG hooks for texas rigged plastics.

size i use is generally about 1/2 to 3/4 the length of the bait

i buy every size from 1/0 to 5/0 in the larger packs.

I use mustad or gammys 3/0 ewg hooks. They are the most basic imo and work well for most situations. and it depends on what you are going to fish with.

Thickness of the plastic determines hook size not the length of the plastic

I use a straight shank round bend hook in 2/0 for plastics the thickness of a Zoom Trick Worm, a straight shank round bend 4/0 for every thing up to the thickness of a 5" Senko and after that it's a round bend offset.

2 5/0 frog hooks hitchhiker, 2 frog jig type hooks. i don't know what hooks to use for top water on these frogs or worms. if there is anything else you think i shouldn't be without let me know. any and all advice is appreciated.

i havent fished a floating worm in a while but i used to use colors that were easy to see. i never got a bite on pink but many swear by it.

you can mess around with hooks sizes and hook weight depending on how fast you want to work the lure. dont be afraid to use a 4/0 on a six inch worm.

with an ewg (extra wide gap) hook of proper length, you shouldnt have to worry about the thickness of the plastic.

for the wacky rigged senkos, i like to use gamakatsu drop shot hooks. usually size 1 or 1/0. im not sure if they are ideal for weightless wacky but i have a high hook up ratio and rarely any gut hooked fish.
