Bass Fishing Times

Featured Replies

So I'm new to bass fishing ( been doing it but not as something serious, but now I want to) and need a little help. Can someone explain to me bass fishing seasons and times like pre-spawn and stuff like that.

Spend some time reading the posts and links in "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page.

Oh! Thanks. Didn't even see those.

I enjoyed reading the In Fisherman book "Largemouth Bass".  It has a chapter detailing exactly what you're asking for.  Likely can be had at a local book store.

The best time is..........right now!  You just never know when that great fish comes along.  I have caught some my very best fish when every single fishing odd was against me, just happen to have that one rogue swimming around.

Just do it, that lone fish of the day could just be that 10 pounder.

Louie, there are actually six bass fishing seasons:

Winter

Pre Spawn

Spawn

Post Spawn

Spring

Summer

Fall

Each season has its own techniques and baits that are productive.

All I can say is for you to read the articles on the Forum; buy some books and start a library; suscribe to a number of bass magazines; join BASS or FLW; hook up with your favorite pros on Facebook or Wired-2-Fish; check out the baits and techniques on YouTube; go to as many seminars you can; join a local bass club; and purchase some DVDs on techniques and baits.

Your investment in these materials and events will prove to be priceless.

Books can be purchased on Amazon.com. Check out the Kevin VanDam and Denny Brauer publications along with anything Ike.

Read the guys and gals posts and also do what Sir Snookalot says: Go fishing!

And post pics of some of those Florida ladies.
