Snakehead, hit the Potomac and get you a few nice snakeheads.  They put up a good fight.

Ha ha.. I didn't pick the screen name "Snakehead Whisperer" at random ;)

Nice fish!  I'd like to get in on some snakehead action but like BrianinMD, I'm also in Germantown and just too close to Black Hills to bother going to many other places.  Hell, I practically have to sneak off from the wife to fish anyway.  So I can't be adding travel time to the equation, that would mean less fishing!

Your pic reminds me of that guy that wackes the watermelons :0

You need to explain needing your man time to your wife, without it you get all stressed up, and that will affect your health; then you wont be able to work or take care of her needs....    :)   So you have to go fishing or else everything will go down the drain....   :0

Welcome to the forum and that is a scary looking snakehead....one day i'm gonna get me one!

Thanks. Thankfully they aren't up there. There is good Snakehead water in and around DC, so it's really not too far from you.

If you live near Lake Huntsman, you are in close proximity to prime snakehead waters both North and South on the Potomac. If you have a boat try Little Hunting Creek, Pohick Bay, Fort Belvoir or Belmont Bay. If you fish from shore, Leesylvania State Park is a good spot. You'll get one, probably when you least suspect (and it will startle you when it strikes ;))

Wait until you see me dispatch a snakehead with a machete... that completes the whole Gallagher look. My hair is short now, however.

OMG,,,  Is that while it's still dangling on the hook-and-line. :surprised-038:

Hey welcome aboard.  Live in arlington and work in NE DC.  We have met once actually at Roaches Run this spring/summer, I was in my inflatable and you were wading.  You told me all about a monster snakehead you had pulled out of there not a week or so before.

We'll have to swap some more urban fishing spots....nothing beats wetting a line.

Yeah, I remember that. I fish Roaches whenever I don't have time to go elsewhere, as it's only 10 minutes from home. PM Sent.
