  1. That's awesome. I could watch videos like that all day long!
  2. Man, I didn't need to see that!
  3. Nice collection and setup. Also, I love those treble caps. I use those myself and have a bag of yellow ones but have only used a couple of them. Most of my biggest trebles hooks fit the purple size.
  4. Is that the standard split ring that comes with those hooks? It looks pretty beefy.
  5. Ooh that sounds like a good combo. I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to rig them considering they have a more definitive fish shape than most plastics.
  6. Looks good, nice quality parts.
  7. I'm a power fisher and because I fish from the bank I try to get my lure way out to cover that's hard for most bank fishermen to get too. So I throw heavy bomb lures including big senkos and crankbaits. Someone mentioned run and gun, that's very much what I do. This year I'm going to slow it down and work on pitching and flipping hoping not to scare the fish off with my usual kamikaze lure presentation.
  8. Wow, hopefully Speedbead didn't pull a Dan Aykroyd on you!
  9. The Last Samurai Saving Private Ryan Saints and Soldiers The Pacific Hoping to add a couple that haven't been added already. Glory Flowers of War Tuskegee Airmen (TV)
  10. Wow, we're not getting our news from twitter now are we? SMH. I refuse to adopt the use of twitter, I've seen some of the stuff on there and it definitely made me stupider! Yes, I said stupider, see what I mean.
  11. Well, I'm from L.A. and have seen many a celebrity but I don't go chasing them down. In fact we're conditioned to nod 'sup and move on. But I don't think it's a problem for someone to want an autograph, take a picture or mince a few words with someone they admire. Hopefully they are admired for an accomplishment and not simply for being a celebrity. It's also not about what it means to them, it's about what it means to you. Hopefully neither party is expecting a life changing encounter.
  12. Sadly, I think we're all hearing more horror stories about breeders than shelters. It's good to rescue dogs and I think they love you more for it in the way that only a dog can. I also think having to have a pure breed as a family dog is old hat now. Mutts rule! But do what's right for your family and good luck in your choice whichever way you go!
  13. I agree with you on that. I should probably mention I'm not a Ravens fan. I live in Redskin territory and try to support the local team. Although that's been hard until this past season and then in typical Redskins fashion they had to go and ruin that. It's funny though because I definitely saw an increase in Ravens gear around here during the playoffs and right around the superbowl it must've quadrupled! I told my wife I bet all these guys with the Ravens flags on their cars had Redskins ones in the glove box. Absolutely disgusting.
  14. It's cool A-Jay. Looks like someone conveniently put his name as the file name itself. So it worked out.
  15. I'm not saying it's the only criteria for being the highest paid athlete, but in my book it's irrefutable proof that should work in ones favor if that person is.
  16. Uh flippin and pitchin, I'm going to need a little clarification here. Which James Brown? Please tell me you didn't meet the Godfather of Soul and that it was no big deal? If so I think the following emoticon is appropriate.
  17. I agree and understand your point. But I don't think comparing pro salaries which are already ridiculous compared to most peoples makes sense when there's so many variables involved. Very seldom is it apples to apples. Actually what I should have said is I don't think it makes sense for me to do. But more importantly, I think guys get paid what they are worth at the time they are worth it and that's always a relative thing from team to team, year to year. Because player contracts start and finish at different times, you'll always have what looks like some player making too much or too little money for the caliber of athlete they are. At this time it makes perfect sense for the Ravens franchise to make Flacco the highest paid player in the NFL.
  18. I love the original ones and had great success with them in the big size which I think is 4 inch or so. I hooked into a monster on one last season that broke off on some cover no more than about 30 ft in front of me. I was devastated! I've never felt a tug like that one since. I've fished them weightless and with a swimbait hook. Either way they catch fish. So basically I love fishing them and now they've got the boot tail which I think is going to be even better and I will be picking up several packs. As for color, I bought the green pumpkin. I see the boot tails have some different colors. I'm planning on picking up white in both tails and green pumpkin and magic shad in whichever tails they come in. I'll also be getting both sizes.
  19. I've seen a few guys posting about famous people they've met during Classic or other events recently and thought it would be cool for everyone to chime in with their own celebrity sightings past or present, fishing related or not. So who have you met or who would you like to meet? I'll start, first I grew up in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles in the 70's/80's so sorry no fishing idols. No pictures but, I met Muhammad Ali when I was little. He was sitting outside some restaurant in Los Angeles in a convertible Rolls Royce and my parents had me run up and get his autograph. Didn't mean much at the time cause I was fairly young but as an adult now I reflect back on it with a certain amount of awe and appreciation. I saw him again in a restaurant not long after graduating high school and it was kind of sad for me to see him in the state he was in. I sure in the hell wish I knew where that autograph was! As for who I'd like to meet... I grew up with the Showtime Lakers and my favorite all time Laker is "Big Game" James Worthy. The reason, he and my father share the same name. That's mine. Who's next? Feel free to post pics if you have them!
  20. I can't think of any person that deserves to be the highest paid player in the NFL other than the superbowl mvp, plain and simple.
  21. Sounds like you had a good time. Thanks for sharing. Always a good vibe to share someone's joy of meeting someone they admire. It's generally harmless. I haven't been a fishing nut long enough to have someone grow on me yet. But I sure do enjoy watching the Hank Parker fishing show. Did notice one thing, man those are some huge bass that come with the KVD action figure!
  22. Wow, there are a lot of great suggestions here. I got into fishing as an adult 2 or 3 seasons ago. Started with jigs cause I was reading a lot of stuff online and everybody seemed to be pushing that. I found out quickly I just don't have the patience for it and to this day have only caught a couple of fish on a jig. I quickly switched over to t-rigged and wacky rigged plastics but still can't fish them very slow and am fairly certain that I'm probably pulling the lure away from fish all the time, but I'm catching so it's not that bad. Then I got into crankbaits, both lipped and lipless and it's hard for me to slow things down now. Learn to fish slow early and stick with it to the point of gaining confidence in it and I think you'll always have it. For me it's going to be hard to adopt now, but I'm going to start working on it again this season.
  23. Wow, that's pretty big and side hooks! If it were in front of me I'd have to buy one. But I've never caught anything on my smaller one.
  24. I've never thought of fishing competitively and so would never need a sponsor, but I can only imagine how many people hit you up once they realize you either own a company or play a major role in one. That being said I think your message comes through loud and clear and my guess is you were still quite reserved in expressing this frustration. Hopefully this message helps reduce those type of inquiries if they are coming from the members of this board. Good luck.
  25. You're not kidding. I've lost so many crankbaits bankfishing over the past couple of seasons. It can go from coming in hot to coming in NOT in a flash. Now I'm addicted to powerfishing and can't stop buying and throwing crankbaits. My only consolation for the hundreds of dollars lost so far is that I didn't pay retail for most of them. That makes it better right? Hell, I'm still not sure it does.
