  1. Ah, thanks for reminding me about the Waddle bats! I was looking at those some time ago.
  2. I'm sure there's some legitimate connection between the two products and am not suggesting otherwise. But the shilling that's going on here is kind of disgusting.
  3. Wow, new for 2012! We need a way back machine so we can go back and get some of these. I'm sure they would be all the rage today! Somebody, no some company clearly has no shame. Good find!
  4. Come on Goose, don't be like that! Seriously though that is a thing of beauty. But can we lock this topic so only avid fisherman can see it cause no one else is going to appreciate this kind of obsession! What we see as preparedness, they'll consider crazy. I think I see some nice xcalibur and yozuri crank baits there. One knockers and rattl'n vibes? If so, two of my favorites.
  5. Nice, What time do you open for business?
  6. I think so, I get the same thing on my wife's iPad. Getting it in this thread too.
  7. Maryland here, near Chesapeake Bay. $20.50 - Non-Tidal Fishing $15.00 - Bay & Coastal Fishing $5.00 - Recreational Crabbing $5.00 - Trout Stamp $45.50 in all. All good year round starting January 1st.
  8. That's just so wrong Nitro! But yeah, pretty much. Been reading all the posts, sounds like we all have keepers whether they join us or not because ultimately they let us fish! For those who's significant others don't regularly join us, at least they know there are worse things we could be into and they tolerate our "habit".
  9. My wife only likes to go "catching" not fishing! She still wonders why I come home empty handed all the time. So she doesn't go out much, certainly not for bass. My son is kind of the same way. Usually when i take him and/or her out we go after crappie and blue gills. I've resigned myself to being the guide or more truthfully the tackle boy when I go fishing with them. I can hardly keep a line wet for myself.
  10. I'll add, I bought my second LH baitcaster from a member of the board who is a lefty that fishes righty. We're all mixed up here!
  11. Although I'm a righty, I started reeling left handed on spinning gear and prefer it. My family has forced me to change over a couple they use to right handed and I can tolerate it. But I've decided to get my first couple of bait casters LH so that I can reel with my left and not have to switch hands after casting. We'll see if that's a good move when the season starts up...
  12. Yeah, that all seems about right. No signs of the bait monkey here.
  13. I bit, thanks to the op and others for the feedback!
  14. Flyfisher, I'm going to try your setup on the Captian Ken's frogs. I have a couple of these and don't like the hook system either. Thanks!
  15. I really like the xcalibur lipless crankbaits, especially the One knockers. The chrome black and foxy momma colors are definite winners.
  16. Good topic... I'll be working on top water a bit, plus I'm broadening my horizons a bit and recently acquired a couple of baitcasters so I'll be busy learning to cast and work those. Of course I also have a terrible time fishing slow, so I'll be trying to slow things down a bit this year.
  17. Wow, yeah they are hugging the closest thing to cover they could find! The solid back panel away from the fishing platform.
  18. I couldn't get free to go so I didn't get to make it up to the flea market and probably won't be able to go tomorrow. Maybe next year... Sean, the leg is good, thanks for asking! I've still got the torn ACL that I'll have to have repaired but the fracture is healed so I'm getting around much easier these days. Until I have it done I'll just have to pick my fishing spots carefully as I work to improve strength and stability. But I'm fiending for some fishing though since I went down in Sept! Tried to go out one day on the fishing pier at black hills but it's just a bit too cold for me right now. So I'm buying a bunch of tackle to make up for it, but it's just not the same.
  19. Thinking about going on Saturday. Had a previous engagement that's falling apart and may free me up to go...
  20. I've never heard the term bait monkey before coming here but man do I have a serious case of it. I've got an order in transit and I'm looking to buy more stuff before it even gets here. This could be going from bad to worse.
  21. Nice fish! I'd like to get in on some snakehead action but like BrianinMD, I'm also in Germantown and just too close to Black Hills to bother going to many other places. Hell, I practically have to sneak off from the wife to fish anyway. So I can't be adding travel time to the equation, that would mean less fishing!
  22. I like the bigger senkos, they don't seem to limit you to only bigger fish as others have reported. I've had dinks barely the size of the senko get bit. I like the yamamoto and the bps stik-o i think they are called have also worked just as well for me. I'm eyeing some 9 inch ones I've seen online. They also have the benefit of casting farther as mentioned above which helps me as a bank fisher get to some spots I can't reach by foot. I primarily fish them wacky but also t-rig occasionally.
  23. Hi Andrew, welcome to BR officially! There's definitely a great group of fishermen and women here as it sounds like you've already seen. I'm in MD myself and we've got a great little thread going where a lot of people from the DMV area talk shop. Stop by and check us out here http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/43647-marylands-whos-who/?hl=%20maryland%20%20who Kevin I.
  24. I hope you are at least going to give us something of a loot report. Some of us could use a fix you know, even if it's only vicariously!
  25. I've never been the jersey type of anything but we've all seen guys wearing jerseys of their favorite players or teams in the major athletic sports. Part of why I've never worn one is I just can't see myself having some other guys name emblazoned across my body. But my point is wearing that stuff is not doing anybody any harm. If someone likes a fishing brand or fisherman enough and like the jersey looks which I think have really taken off and gotten deliciously gaudy as tournament fishing has gotten to be more mainstream, go for it. But you should follow the advise others have mentioned of getting permission first. In fact most jersey manufacturers will require it and try to conduct yourself with respect when wearing it. Also, I've got a 14 year old and have seen point blank that looking silly seems to be where it's at. It's called peacocking and as young men i think we've all engaged in it at some point. Granted I don't see how a fishing jersey is going to benefit anyone in this area. But as a married man that's not something I have to figure out anymore, thank God. Have you seen these skinny jeans?! Oh the horror!!!
